So my first tri isn't until August, but I've been poking around online (here and elsewhere) at all the cute tri-clothes. I'm also not planning on wearing a wetsuit because it's a sprint and the lake is already at 75 degrees and it's only June. I was told that for a short race in warm enough water, most people forego the wetsuit. Plus, then I can save myself the rental fee. So I was also told that if you're not wearing a wetsuit, then a 1-piece trisuit is better, so that the top doesn't ride up while I'm swimming. But would I look like a TOTAL poseur, if I wore a 1-piece, or for that matter, if I even got a really cute outfit? Or should I just stick to plain black shorts and a plain colored top so as not to stand out as a stupid newbie? I always read about cyclists making fun of newbie cyclists who have all the gear but can't ride the bike - not on this board, but elsewhere.
