Today was a little chillier and windier in central/eastern VA, but I still feel guilty about how much warmer it's been here than where so many of you are with rain and ice. Very little sun, though. We did 51 hilly miles northwest of Richmond (Rockville to Montpelier and back, for those of you who know the area). It was a tough day but to "recover" on the way home, we stopped by a bike friend's NY Eve open house and pigged out on end-of-year goodies. Looks like tomorrow's annual New Year's Day ride will be rained out, though. Maybe it'll give me time to figure out how many miles I actually rode this year!

P.S. I second Lifesgreat's endorsement of the Buff. I have mild asthma and have found that if I pull a Buff up over my mouth and nose to warm the air I take in, I don't have as much problem breathing. Keeps me warm but I can still breathe OK through the fabric.
