Mimi, thank you for sharing the events of Don's last hours. I'm am glad he had his family with him and music, Love all around.
It's fitting that Don continues to help others, even in his death. I was always so thankful for the people that donated their bodies so that those studying to be heathcare professionals could benefit. I'm glad that Don made it to med school.
I'm sure that while his body is helping to educate on this plane, his spirit is bringing all of his goodness to whatever the next plane is.
To quote another TE'r, "Tailwinds, Don."

Your description of Don's last hours was beautiful! (Although the bit about him going to med school got me laughing until I was crying again) It's amazing how much people we only know from the internet can come to mean to us. I will always treasure his words on Bikejournal about how he dealt with wanting his life back. They give me strength when everything seems to be too much. He was a blessing to so many.
You are in my prayers.

Thank you for sharing his last hours, it was beautiful and it sounds like he did it his way. From what we have gotten to know of him through you he wouldn't have had it any other way. I hope through his body and his fundraising for the bike many people's lives are enriched. Take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cancer sucks.
Hugs to you and your family. It sounds like it was a nice send off to a wonderful person. To be surrounded by your family is truly the way to go. My FIL was able to do that with all of his family members and it is still remembered five years later.
Maybe the bike was lifted a few days early so it will be in his new place to ride.
Mimi, even though I'm typically a lurker around here, I have been reading about you and RD and my deepest condolences go out to you and your sons and family at this time. Will keep you guys in my prayers.

My heart goes out to you and your family...what a special soul he must have been to have his loss reverberate so far and wide, even with folks who didn't know him personally.
