SIDI road shoes

I want to buy SIDIs on e-bay, but have no idea what size I am. I am size 9-10 with narrow feet. Can anyone tell me the size? It must be between 40-44.

I wear a size 10-11 depending on the shoe and my sidi's are a 43. I love them and I have a narrow instep, they fit great. I think you'd be safe with a 42, but try to get a women's 42 for the narrower fit.

FWIW, I wear a 8-8.5 in street shoes, and a 41 in Sidis (men's or women's). I definitely prefer the fit of the women's- the narrower heel pocket means less slipping.

what size/brand are your current shoes?

I would be hesitant to buy cycling shoes without trying them on, especially on EBay where you frequently can't return something "just" because it's the wrong size.

People seem to be fairly variable in whether they find a particular brand of shoe comfortable or not, and also whether they think it runs big or small.

I wear a 7.5 or 8 street shoe, and a size 39 Sidi (men's or women's). Length of the men's shoes is the same as women's shoes in the same numerical size, but the women's shoes are a bit narrower overall and especially are narrower in the heel (they fit me a bit better than the men's).

Previously I had Shimano shoes that were also 39s and a good fit.

Has Sidi's size chart changed this year? I seem to remember that 39 was 7.5 on their chart; on the chart I just found on TE, 39 = 7.

Anyway, I'd be worried about buying them on EBay if you've never tried them on before.

I'm a 9.5 narrow in regular shoes and my Sidi's are 42.5 women's. I love them! I have a pair of the Sidi winter boots in 43 men's and they are too big/wide with my normal non-winter cycling socks.

I wish Sidi made regular shoes.

You should really buy Sidi's at a LBS. They have narrow, medium, and mega widths. Men and women's sizes, as well as half sizes. They are AWESOME shoes, but you won't be happy unless you have the right size. Pay a little extra, then once you know what size you are you can pick up another pair online.

I wanted a very specific pair of SIDI's that were from a 2 year old style, so none of the stores had them. My LBS kindly let me try on some other SIDI's to determine the size.
You do not want to buy the wrong size on EBay for obvious reasons.

Find out your size by trying on SIDI's and not another brand THEN go shopping on Ebay if you have to

Is the mens Sidi heel cup much bigger than the womens?

I bought womens Sidi Zeta about a year ago in a 40.5, I'm about an 8 US ladies street shoe... but I think my foot's maybe spreading with age??? Sometimes an 8 is not right.

Well, the heel cup, arch counter, length, etc. of the 40.5 womens Sidis are perfect.... EXCEPT... the ball of my foot seems squished. I get numb foot.

I tried the 41 womens in the shop when I bought these, but the heel slipped, and just seemed a bit sloppy.

I'm going to upgrade my pedals to a wider platform to help with support, and was going to keep riding my Zeta... but then TE had their end of year Sidi sale. The Zeta sole is pretty stiff, but Sidi makes stiffer... sale helps to try it.

I didn't know if the Sidis with the buckle strap might fit differently... so I ordered a 40.5 W Genius 6.6 and the Genius 5.5 in 41 for sizing. Only 40.5 in the 6.6 was available w/the sale stock. Same thing... the 41 feels like a roomier toe box, but my foot slips around. The 40.5 Genius 6.6 feels about like my Zeta... it might be too tight. I think my foot is a "flying V" ... wider ball, and narrow heel.

I'm afraid if I get mens to fit the ball of my foot, the heel cup is going to be too wide.

I saw Sidi makes a mens narrow... wonder if that just fits like the womens?

Both those Sidis from TE are sooooo nice... I wanna em to fit for the price.

btw... my lbs have little to no selection, particulary womens', Sidis to try on... so shopcyber is my place to work it out.

I always think TE has the best reference library for checking stuff out, but Sidi's web site has a foot measuring thing pic.

Here, it says US women 8 = 40.5, which is what I am, and what I own now... and ordered. But SOME of the sizes on that Sidi foot stick pic don't match up EXACTLY was a US size. Like my 8 for example... the line is not dead in the half mark. I dunno???

I also wear a 9-10 is US womens sizing, on the narrow side. More often I am a 9N but I have a few 10s in my closet (usually they are boots). Because my foot is narrow, I like the styles with 2 straps plus a buckle, like the dominator. The styles with 3 straps are too wide for me.

In brands like teva, nike, and drew, I am a solid 9. If I mail order, I start with a 9 and it usually works.

I am a perfect womens 42 in a sidi dominator.

Both of them fit me. The men's is very slightly wider overall (including a bit more width in the toebox). The heel is definitely slightly looser. However, my foot is shaped like yours (wider forefoot, narrow heel), and it hasn't really been a problem for me, the fit is not sloppy. Next pair of road shoes, I'll probably buy women's, but these are fine for the time being.

I would say it might be worth trying a pair of men's Sidis, especially if you could try at LBS with no obligation to buy.

By the way, I've read that Sidi's men's and women's lasts are differently proportioned, and that the women's last is actually wider at the forefoot and narrower at the heel compared to the men's. So men's narrow is probably still a little different than the women's fit.

Liza... thx so much for that info! It's great when someone whose your "foot twin" already owns it.. "been-there-done-that". Besides giving mens a try for the wider foot ball area, maybe the styles with the strap near the ankle might help to snug it up if the heel cup is loose. That's also a good tip about the mens narrow... I bet the entire shoe is just narrower uniformly. If I find some to try on I'll post about it.

That means I wear 38.5-39 in regular shoes, but my cycling shoes are 40 (in Specialized, both in men's and women's). I haven't tried Sidi yet, but I want to. I don't want to order them the wrong size, and finding a good selection of women's shoes in the LBS is a pain. I'm afraid that Sidis are too narrow for me. I need a narrow heel but a roomy toe box. If you have narrow feet, I'd guess they'd run more true to size for you and work. So maybe around a 41 (40.5-41.5)?

Unless Sidi sizing has changed in the past few years, I don't think you'd wear a 40. I wear a solid size 7 (occasionally even a 6.5) in street shoes, and my size 39 Sidis were just barely large enough! If I were buying another pair, I'd get a 40. I do have narrowish feet (A, not AA).

I bought my Sidis several years ago off a gal on ebay who had thought they would fit her (she also bought them on ebay), but she found them to be way too small. She wore a size 8 in street shoes.

I wear a 38 in my three other pairs of cycling shoes (PI, Cannondale, and Lake). They all fit my size 7 feet perfectly. So, I'd say that at least several years back, Sidi sizing ran about 2 sizes smaller than other bike shoes.
