Well, I broke the bike in today, or did it break me??? For anybody in Montgomery County who was riding around Sugarloaf Mountain this morning, I was the chick hiking/biking on those hills!!! Yup not ashamed at all to say I was walking some hills today!!! I was trying to learn the gearing, and kept messing it up!Its a little different than my Trek to say the least! I had a good view though as a few cute guys doing their training rides passed me--- more than once!!
I pulled out as soon as I got off work at 8 am and just took my time. My Cateye Mity 8 decided it didn't want to be calibrated either so I'm not sure yet how far I did. I'll go map it out and see!
23 miles... Time for a Pepsi and a nap!

I hope that this is the start of a love affair.
It gets pretty hilly and steep up by Sugarloaf! Quite ambitious for a first ride. No shame in walking.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Outstanding ride/hike. I love the attitude of one woman at last year's Hilly Hundred in Bloomington as I greeted her on a hill she was walking... she proudly said "There's no hill to steep that it can't be walked". I always smile when I think of that!
This group will give great advice on gearing.

Great bike. I'm happy you found something that fit the bill.
maybe you shouldn't get new pedals until you are more comfortable with the bike as it is...
Thanks guys!. No, the plastic pedals definitely have to go, They are worse than my platforms on my Trek. Soon as the laundry gets done, I'm off again... somewhere....
