Aw Jes, poor puppy. Hope she's feeling better.

Enjoy the concert! We got to see Springsteen in Pittsburgh this winter. He was great!

Do you wanna get married? Or is Thom the cook?

I need a guy who loves to cook & bike.

It's a joint effort. I made the pie (mostly) and the rub for the salmon. Thom helped me with the meringue and cooked the salmon, sauce and risotto.

The pie turned out pretty well. I never liked lemon meringue as a kid and so had never considered making it as an adult. Our latest Cuisine magazine had a recipe and that's when Thom tells me he likes lemon meringue pie. We've been married almost 22 years and together for 25 and now he tells me...

The pie was an all day affair. First you make the crust, chill it for 30 minutes, cook it, make the lemon filling, dump it on the crust, cook it, chill that for 6 hours... make the meringue, top the pie, cook it...

I was just filling up my shopping cart on REI.com to use that 20% off coupon before it expires tonight... and so was everyone else. The site went down.

Cajun spiced snapper, romaine tomato pepper and avacado salad with french vinegrette and naan bread here tonight. Then I'll have flourless chocolate tort for dessert (left over from the TE gig yesterday - Thanks Linda!!)

I used a gentle leader for my last dog. It was fantastic!!

My dog is in heat and I am sick of taking her diaper on and off so she can go outside to investigate.

    She's worth it though!

    Weimerimer?(sp?) Beautiful dog.

It must be seafood Sunday. I made Garlic-Herb Oven Fried Halibut, Carrot and Zucchini Ribbons and salad. Peach pie for dessert, Mrs Smiths mini pie - it serves 3 perfectly.

    Anyone else have tomorrow off?

It's a holiday in California - Cesar Chavez day. Since I'm a guv'mint worker I get the day off. Which means I work twice as hard tomorrow to cram 16 hours of work into 8....

Yep, she is a weimaraner. She has long toes because she is trying to grow opposable thumbs Actually, she is perfect in every respect with the exception of allowing us to cut her toenails. We have tried everything short of taking her to the vet (well, we actually had them try, too) and knocking her out.

    Enjoy the holiday.

I signed up for a months worth of spin classes because the century that I plan on doing is only 9 weeks away. It is cold, snowing, and blowing, so I can't attack the training schedule.

    Wish me luck tonight!

What is for dinner tonight? I think a chicken pot pie sounds good - homemade. Who's cooking and what time do we come over?

You guys all actually cook a lot, huh? I did more when I was married and not working, and I kinda miss the relaxation of cooking with some time to do it.

But, I know a lot of you work, and train, and seem to cook...I just find it a challenge.

I have today off, technically is it my "saturday".
Lunch was a breeze today, we had pizza last night at work, after all it was Doctors day, so I bought pizza for the unofficial party that we threw. And as luck would have it, you buy enough pizza, you get leftovers. SO leftover pizza today for lunch..my favorite too. white garlic cheese pizza with green olives and pepperoni...also bought a spinach, ricotta and artichoke pizza too. The white pizza I think wins hands down all the time. And the doc's wife brought us cake, one girl brought in homemade cookies and chocolate. And the coffee pot was filled and fresh all day..
Tonights dinner is going to be pork chops, stuffing and mashed potatoes and sour cream. Dessert will be either the PB cookies left over from last week, or a zinger. Remember those little treats?
I prefer brownie crusts..centers are ok, but give me a crunchy edge piece any day.
And as some of you shudder, yesterday I placed an order at Performance for some new tires. Price is right and it was double points weekend. The biking shopping season has started. OK, so it goes on all the time, but it's spring time, shouldn't that be the official start of bike accessory shopping? I need an excuse to justify my indulgence in biking attire and accessories..
oh, and i love my new kitchen aid mixer
my flight of ideas to add to this thread are thru..
