Thumbs up Las Vegas to Phoenix -- I made it through the desert

I made it! It was quite a challenge. You can find my full ride report (with photos) here. Quick summary:

Day 1, Henderson to Laughlin: I made to mile 48 when the heat kicked my butt (110 degrees in Laughlin that day!)

Day 2, Kingman to Ash Fork: we got pulled over by the highway patrol, and had great fun on Route 66

Day 3, Ash Fork to Prescott: made it safely through the "most dangerous highway in Arizona"

Day 4, Prescott to Lake Pleasant: my first century!!

Day 5, Phoenix: a warm welcome by our colleagues.

All in all I had a blast.

That's terrific! I would never have made it out of Las Vegas, between the heat and the call of Bloody Mary's.......

Congratulations on a job well done!

    Wow, BikeDutchess. What a ride
You encountered it all. Having the pleasaure to ride with you on your first ride of the year, to a ride I did with you a in August, I witnessed your improvement. You say you were the 'weakest link' from your story, but I can say, you rode 'smart' and there is nothing 'weak' about that. YOU ARE AWESOME and your accomplishment is AWESOME.

    Smile

Way to go!! I remember reading the post regarding a route. I live in the Phx valley and for work sometimes must drive to Las Vegas. I thought man I would hate to ride those roads on my bike. Loved the pictures. If you did this tour in October, the weather would be perfect............no a$$ kickin heat!
