Good for you for getting back out. I agree with Lisa re: the bars. From what I've read and seen the drops of your bars should point to the rear hub. I know not everyone is the same but I do think you'd be more comfortable with them setup that way. It would move your hoods closer to you and take the pressure off of your hands. Essentially it would give you a more upright position...so you wouldn't need to raise your bars. Good luck finding "THE" position for you.

    Shoot me after the Cindy!

I took off from my house, rode around the neighborhood and figured out how my new shifters work. I now know which one is "up the hill" and which one is "down the hill"

Played with the brakes, practiced stopping with hands on the hoods, and in the drops. I'm used to my v-brakes, which seemed to stop really fast. These new canti's feel a bit different, not sure how.

I can tell the bike handles better with the new bars, why is that? My hands hurt, I'm thinking maybe I need to raise the bars a bit.

I made a stop at the mecca of bike purchases - and for proof that I actually did get out this morning.!
Snap - don't feel too bad. I went out on the road bike on Saturday to make sure all the parts of my bike are working (haven't ridden the road bike but one other time this year) for a nice flat (windy, but flat) 25 miler. I was tried, sore and way out of shape. I am in so much trouble - I'm riding the Cindy this coming weekend!

I'll be wearing my castelli shorts with royal blue legs and white and royal blue top; with my very bright pink and black Giant TCR. Hopefully, I'll see you there at the expo if I make it in before dark!

Snap, I think you should come to WCC in May and we can stand around with our pretty bikes, ride a little bit, maybe, and then commence with the martinis (after the bikes are safely stowed, of course) and cheer everyone else on.
