V - I walked my tri last year. I knew my knee would be a problem if I didn't. There were a lot of walkers, and I got passed by a couple race-walkers. It's ok to walk. (there was even a woman in a grass hula skirt walking)

And I will tell you that the folks who seemed to be having some of the most fun were the relay teams! They were just nuts!

Trek - I'll let you try on my wetsuit... (and TE, I'll take a couple pics for y'all!)

No tri's (tris? - how the heck do you pluralize tri?) for snap. I can't swim worth a damn, my knees would blow up if I tried to run - heck, I can't even walk long distances. Guess I have to stick to the bike.

    Muddy Buddy looks fun......

    and is pluralize a word?

just because I'm feeling brave I'll show you my wetsuit pic- Wahine's right- everyone looks cool in a wetsuit. This pic is from last summer on a training swim for the IM (I'm on the far right). Even us curvier triathletes look halfway decent all wrapped in rubber.

now I'm feeling really brave. If everyone looks good in their wetsuit, it must be true that not everyone looks good getting stipped of their wetsuit. Not my most flattering picture, but it makes me laugh...

Tri girl I love that photo. It's a fabulous action shot. I wish I had one like it. Hmmmm, maybe I can work something out with DH.

What kind of rack is that on the back of the car? It looks like something that might work for my convertable. I desperately need a trunk mounted rack for the convertable. I wold look sooooooo cool cruising around with the bikes on the back.

Thanks Trek, that's it! It's the Bones 2 and I love it. It never comes off the back of the car because 1. it's a pain for me to get it tightened back on securely and 2. my bikes are always on it.
The one thing I would recommend is to put a sock (or soft cloth) over the part that rests on the top of the trunk. It marred the paint a little, but not bad.

Perhaps you'll appreciate a random thought that popped into my head on my last treadmill run....

"You don't have to like it, you just have to DO it!"

rofl. As soon as the thought crystalized I almost fell off the treadmill laughing at myself. It's amazing the bargaining that goes on in my head.

That's kinda what I look like getting out of sweaty tights after a run.

Great tan lines. It's obvious you get out for lots of road miles.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

So true, and that kept me going today! As I'm freezing my tushie off, in the slush and snow that's what I said to myself. Made me laugh as well! Thanks!

Thanks Trek. You are a wealth of knowledge.

I checked out the website and it's not going to work. The car is an older model mercedes and the bumper won't take the rack properly. Also, I wouldn't be able to use the trunk while the rack is on and that's pretty important for a convertable, two seater at that. Did I mention that it is a really cool car. Completely impractical, but cool.

Dang. I shall continue the search.

I know a woman who put a hitch rack on her Miata - so there's an option.
