Sugar Knickers vs. Ergo Sensor Knickers

I'm trying to choose between these. Anybody familiar with both or either?

The XL on the Sugar Knickers looks like it will fit me. It appears it will take the XXL in the Ergos.

I have the Sugar Knickers, and for some reason they feel like they run a little smaller than the Sugar Short. I'm about an 8 or a 10 in women's sizes and I take a medium. The Sugar Knickers are very comfortable but if you don't like low-rise stuff you won't like them -- they have a big dip in front and are fairly low-rise all around.

They are also fairly lightweight -- not really for very cold weather, but perfect for fall.

Hi pooks... I just got a pair of the Terry knickers, they are great. Very comfy, nice fabric for feel and temperature control, good sizing, got the flex chamois which I like. 10/10

Hey Pooks,

I've tried both.

Sugar Knicker
Pros: Comfy, nice chamois, comfortable opening at leg
Cons: Extremely low rise, thin fabric (this is a pro for me, but might be a con for you if you want them for cool weather.)

Ergo Sensor Knickers
Pros: Thick, durable fabric, would probably keep you warmer than the Sugars. Pretty and slimming blue contrast stitching.
Cons: The chamois is nice but might not be appropriate for long rides. Blue contrast stitching might limit you in terms of matching colors.

Have you considered Shebeest Pedal Pushers? I'm a big fan. And of course I've heard wonderful things here about the Etxe Ondo knickers, but I'm waiting for the warmer weather styles to come in.

I have the Shebeest knickers and the LouisGarneau Ergo Sensor knickers. They are both REALLY nice. Both have nice chamois and are well made. Yes, the Ergo has good weight fabric. Shebeest is a bit snugger in fit than the Ergo. Love the Shebeest too, though, and neither knicker has "diaper butt" effect.
I love the blue line on the Ergo- very sleek.
I have them both in Medium- I'm 140 lbs 5'5", pearshaped. Both fit comfortably snugly, as I prefer. If I were 10 lbs heavier I'd probably want to get the Shebeest in a large. I could probably still fit in the medium Ergo though.

I ended up with the Terry knickers and like them a lot. I'm not a huge fan of the "ultimate chamoise" as I'm more "aware" of it than my others, but that might be because it hasn't been laundered yet and hasn't softened. I don't dislike it, but I know it's there.

Embarassing moment. I was at the hospital in my mil's room when my husband mentioned the temps were predicted to drop into the 40s. I said, "Oh that reminds me -- I want to get some knickers for when that happens." He looked startled and so did the nurse's aide/tech who was in there. I described them and kept talking and didn't think more about it until later when we were driving home and he said it sounded like instead of "knickers" I'd said the n-word.

Hey, Pooks, you could call them "knickerbockers," which is the original term.

I got both the Sugar Knickers and the Shebeest Pedal Pushers, and ended up sending the Sugars back. I don't like the thinner fabric, though the chamois seemed pretty nice--as far as I could tell without actually riding in them. The Shebeests have that great flex chamois which is so comfy and un-diaper-butt-like, plus I love love love that magical material they use as grippers instead the rubbery stuff on most biking bottoms. My only complaint about the Shebeests is that they're a bit too long, but I'm short enough that I'm used to things being too long so have no problem with pushing them up a bit. The magical grippers make them stay wherever I put them.

I like the new Terry knickers that have a flex chamois similar to the Shebeests, but not that nice gripper, and the new Terrys seem to have a slightly lower rise in front--not so nice.
