Awwwww! This is sooooo great to be part of something! It was great to be able to hook up with KSH through TE! I don't know if I would have done the ride without the support of another person. It is so wonderful to have that!
And let me tell you, KSH is quite organized with getting us to ride the 100 miles. I know we can do it and I know that there are so many other women that want to do it, but think you can't. I believe if you find someone that has the passion to complete the century, like I have found....You will be finishing it before you know it. Know your dreams, your goals and do it! You don't know unless you try!
Thanks for the kind words!
My boyfriend thanked me as well... AFTER the MS150... and I "encouraged" him to ride 135 miles in two days (before the ride, he had done at the most 40 miles at one time, and had NEVER ridden back to back days before).
Of course, during the ride on the 2nd days, he was hating me and the hills. At one point, he got so frustrated and annoyed... he literally got off his bike and threw it on the side of the road and sat down. It was a *rough* day to say the least.
But, we got him up...we walked up the hill... and we finished riding.
After it was done, he thanked me for getting him through it all.
Moral of the story Heidi... you might want to kill me come mile 75 and I'm going, "We can do this... just keep pedaling... we can do this". Be warned, you might also get the, "Half of this sport is mental... and we can't let the mental beat us... " speak as well!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
