Those are cute socks. But there is no olive in a lemon drop martini!

I've seen that saying on t-shirts but replace martini with tequila. Now that's my kind of liquor.

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else.
It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs and the voice inside that yells "CAN'T".
But you don't listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper "CAN".
And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Very cool. But why do martinis get all the attention?? Wine feels left out!

I don't know what a lemon drop is, but it sounds good. I like some martini thing called an Emerald Dragon. The night my daughter called to tell me she was pregnant, I drank quite a few. My friends renamed the restaurant we were at (706) Blotto's after that incident...

I also vaguely remember sticking my head under the booth to inspect the legs of a cycling/Eco Challenge racing friend, which were, of course, shaved.

But that was a long time ago.

    Lemon Drop

    1 1/2 ounces vodka
    1/2 ounce Triple Sec
    1 teaspoon superfine sugar
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
    Ice cubes
    Superfine sugar for dipping
    Twisted peel of lemon

Mix the vodka, Triple Sec, sugar, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice; shake well (supposedly the cocktail is to be shaken 40 times to make sure the sugar is well blended). Pour strained liquor into sugar-rimmed martini glass and garnish with a twisted peel of lemon.

To create a sugar-rimmed glass, take a lemon wedge and rub the drinking surface of the glass so it is barely moist. Dip the edge of the glass into sugar.

    -----------------

Some places don't use sugar in the drink - which I prefer. I like my Drops tart.
