46.42 miles.... 2711 feet of climbing (first part was climbing into the national park.... 2nd half was back roads) got a flat.... why is it ALWAYS the back tire? i woulda gone further... but i needed to get home and get some stuff done! (ya..... like i'm getting a lot done sitting on the puter)
Rode nice 50 km with a workmate today, so nice, so warm, so sunny, just FABULOUS! Too bad I had to go to work for the evening. I think I need to figure out how to log those kilometers somewhere (where exactly do you guys do it??) since I've done already 800 km this year which is pretty well for me![]()

The weather is still terrible here today (30C, 70% humidity, no wind) so I spent most of the day feeling overheated and wilted. I really wanted to get out for a ride, but figured I had better wait till nearer sunset. Went out for a short ride this evening, watching the sunset over the river. Really nice evening. And it had cooled down to a bearable 22C. Did a short ride along the river to the next village and back, only 7 miles in total. But Trek420 told me I should do a recovery ride after yesterdays 40miles. Hopefully this can be considered an appropriate recovery ride. Felt great and once I was out, I really wanted to go further but I'm glad I didn't. I got a bit of a heat rash on my legs in the sun yesterday and this short ride today was brining it back out. Time to dig out the aloe gel again and turn the fan back on.
After working this whole weekend, I finally had time for my long ride this week.
63 miles in 3:30.
I got in 30.5 miles this afternoon. I'm hosting a 45 mile club ride on the 23rd and went out to check the milage on the first part of the route I had put together in my head. I think it will another fun, scenic ride with very low traffic. It is a beautiful day here in Kentucky, sun is shining, temps in the mid 70's, slight breeze a perfect day to spend some time outdoors taking in all the sights and sounds.
I woke up at 5:30 and it was actually COOL outside for a change! Got my first ride on the bike in almost two weeks. Only did 22 miles, but it was still great!
