Sarah here. I am done w/the double. I saw Veronica and Thom last night and again at the start this a.m. I don't yet know how they did, but when I hear I will shoot out a quick update.
here' my brief description:
12:20 total time, 11:25 ride time. 4:30 rain time (est). I rode w/my friend Larry who gets the good sport of year award. I felt crappy. stung by bee. too early for a double! and my friend stacy so lied - davis is way easier! 8 advil, 3 gel flasks, 10 lbs. road grit. must find food.

Sarah, you are so _fast_!!! Loved your ride report. Sounds like not the funnest ride in the world. I can't imagine the 4.5 hours of rain were pleasant- hopefully you didn't freeze. And stung by a bee!! That just sucks! (That hasn't happened to me for years, but when it did, first I got stung by a wasp while painting, then later kicked a bee with bare feet, by accident! Ow!)
Veronica, yeah, I _bet_ she finished strong! She certainly put in the most dedicated training ever!
