Has anyone tried these bib-shorts? They are a little less expensive than the Gore... I really want these, but they don't have a drop-tail but I really like the straps and the back...
The PI drop-tail bib shorts have the best price at TE - but I have got to get away from the PI chamois..

I had not realized that a very similar thread had been started on this topic elsewhere - until I posted in it later last night - sorry about that.
I did call TE's wonderful staff today and found out that the PI drop-bib shorts has the one PI chamois that I like - the one in my regular PI elite shorts. I suspect that I will go with these - and if I find the chest clasp irritating I will just remove it
