    Orange juice woes

I love Florida's Natural orange juice. It actually tastes like oranges!! Imagine that. I've been drinking it every night with dinner for a few years now. I like the no pulp version with calcium and vitamin D, so I get a little extra nutrition along with it. I also drink it after long rides as a tasty recovery drink.

But the grocery store I shop at (Harris Teeter) decided Florida's Natural doesn't make enough money for them so they stopped selling it. I asked someone in the dairy department why it was gone, and he was surprised because he said it sells well. But a manager told me it's "not a first tier brand" so they got rid of it to make room for more Tropicana and their own store brand.

I am SO not happy about this!!!

I tried Simply Natural because it was on sale, but it's not as good and is too expensive at regular price. I just opened a carton of Minute Maid and it's so nasty I think I might dump the whole 1/2 gallon down the drain. I won't even consider Tropicana -- I already know I don't like that. And the store brand's version of the calcium-enriched juice doesn't have any vitamin D, so never mind with that.

This means I now have to go to a second grocery store just to get juice.

I think I need to write Harris Teeter a letter...

    Ain't that the truth.

But it really is good juice.

And time spent going to a second store is time not spent riding my bike.

If you're truly only purchasing orange juice, you could always ride your bike to the second store with a backpack..

Ha! I knew someone would suggest that.

I do my errands in groups so I would hit store #2 after store #1, on my way home from work or other errands. And I will buy 3-4 half-gallon cartons at a time to cut down on the number of times I have to go to store #2.

It just gets me when a store decides to drop the superior product like that, especially in this case when they're dropping the juice from Florida orange growers so they can sell more from the companies that import oranges from another continent.
