    Talking SILLY helmet ideas?

OK, so am doing a sponsored bike ride during the summer with some friends, nothing amazing, just for fun.

BUT I need help/ideas with how I can make my helmet look, well, just plain silly.

I realise I have to be careful of using any adhesives because of weakening the helmet, or something like that.

You guys over the pond, always seem to come up with some pretty amazing ideas, so who better to ask.

No theme at the moment, just to be done for a laugh.

    Cheers.

If you pull a stretchy novelty wig over the helmet like a helmet cover you could pin all sorts of stuff to the wig...
First image I got was a nice set of blonde braided pig tails and a viking helmet

Lots of things can be rubber banded on through the vent holes too (I use a pony tail holder to put a LED flashlight on my helmet when I commute at night)

I saw a motorcycle helmet with a face painted on the back. It was so well-done that I had to make a second look to see what the heck was going on! Anyway, if you could add a face under the wig so it looked like you were riding backwards.

Thanks for all the good ideas, funny why I never think of the obvious sometimes.

Any pics would be super to see.

    Cheers.

How about ribbons that stream in the wind behind you?

Pinwheels are a GREAT idea! Our local team that trains for the Leukemia/Lymphoma society bike rides decorates their helmets on ride day with pipe cleaners fashioned into tornadoes. They attach flying cows, houses, etc and it looks hilarious. I'll try to find a picture. Of course, nobody over there might know what a tornado is so it may not hold the same humor. Is there something regionally funny/silly that would make people laugh? Don't know- that's not a good idea, but it's the only one my brain comes up with at the moment.

I like the wig idea, too. You ladies are quite creative. I put a santa hat on my helmet near Christmas- that would not be good in the summer.

Deely-boppers. The possibilities are nearly endless! I'm thinking of getting some shamrock ones.

How about a nice tiara? I did the 5 Boro Bike Tour with a cardboard crown zip-tied to my helmet

I second the tiara idea... I have a sparkly pink kids one from a toy shop zip-tied to the top of my kayaking helmet and it and it's "diamonds" have stuck with me through a lot!
