    Odd doggies

I don't want to hijack V's thread about crazy kitties on crack

Do your doggies do any odd stuff?

Paisley, our six-month old Boston Terrier puppy, races into the kitchen whenever we fire up the Vita-mix or ice dispenser in the refrigerator door. She jumps, on all four legs at once, as high as she can to get to the source of the sound, very excited.

I guess she wants to try a margarita!

When Chloe was younger, before she had puppies, she would lie on her back with a toy and chew it, at the same time making a sing-song sound.

She also does the "bone dance". When she gets something other than her usual dog cookie, she runs into another room, drops it, then proceeds to dance around it. Wrinkling her nose, bowing down, circling the new treat. Then she wolfs it down...

I could go on and on...

But the first thing I think of is our Australian Shepherd mix. He has a very short tail (we think natural bob). So, he can't chase his tail.

But, he has fantastic butt fluff, kind of like a bussle.

He loves to grabs it and chase it. Round and round!

When he walks, he struts, and his butt fluff swings back and forth like a kilt. I think he may be a Scottish Shepherd!

Butt fluff! That reminds me, Chloe has no tail - she also has the silliest looking hackles. When she gets riled up and raises her hackles, all that stands up is a puffy section on her butt. We call it the Powder Puff of Death.

    odd big dogs...

My English mastiff, "Nixon" (named for his look-alike twin, Richard Nixon) will do the little dog trick of lying totally upside down to sleep...balanced perfectly on his spine, hind legs suspended and totally relaxed, front legs "begging". He extends his neck out so that the top of his head is on the floor, which makes his Nixon jowels flop open...which then fill with drool while he sleeps. He then snores (wetly) and farts. What looks pretty natural on a little dog looks like a beached whale scene on a 200 pounder.

This would be a perfect photo op except that he is wildly camera shy...he can hear the camera coming, somehow, and rolls over in a spray of drool, then skulks off so he can sleep in peace.

Now that he is 10 and mobility challenged, he seldom does this much any more... but he can still manage a few moments in his favorite position in the sun.

Prepare for more corgi cuteness (aussie too!) Efan (the corgi) seems to be a little ocd and loves to lick. He will go in the kitchen and start licking the grout lines around the tile for any food or crumbs that may have managed to fall in there. Harley (the aussie) is a coffee addict and will do anything to get a taste of coffee.

Your dogs have won a Major Award! (good dogs to pose like that)

I found out today one of my dogs is either a goof or a bully.

Little dog was on the sofa with me, big dog wanted to play.
Big dog took the collar of little dog and dragged her down to the floor to wrestle!

LOL, that is funny, Don't want to play?? I'll make ya!!! Too cute!

Gotta love our 4-legged kids. The two deserve their Major Award that they have They are both such good dogs. They went to the vet yesterday to get their shots and every year the vet goes on about how much he loves it when it is my dogs that come in because they are so well trained and well behaved. Makes me feel like such a good mom!

my dog has recently started eating poop. it's disgusting and i have to watch him like a hawk and he's so disappointed that i won't let him. i wish i could get him to stop cause then he gets sick later and it's horrible.

both my dogs will lay completely on their backs and the poop eater stretches like a cat (front legs out with arched back).
