    Meet Dr. Artsy Fartsy

Finally finished my new ride... a 2008 Kona Dr Dew with a few upgrades. I call her Artsy for short. She is my around town, go anywhere, commuter (well I only have a 2 mile commute), rolls smooth on our chipseal and forest service roads, and she's pretty. Love the disc brakes for steep downhills... and of course the wood fenders are just cool functional art.

    What do you think?

Very cool bike!! I'd be curious to know how the fenders hold up - I've been drooling at them

It does come in blue tweed, no red.

    Glad you like her.

The color scheme reminds me a bit of another beauty- the SweetPea Farmer's Market bike:

water bottle is a Klean Kanteen 27oz stainless steel. The only place I've seen the colored ones are at REI website.

    What she said...

    WOW!

Will you allow yourself to be seen riding with us that have non-coordinated bikes? My purple Breezer cruiser is going to be SOOO jealous. I subject it to day glow orange paniers.

That is one gorgeous bike. I'm very jealous, but you've given me something to aspire to once my bills are all paid off. Best of luck!

WOW! I love the color scheme and those wood fenders are about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I love the green and tan colors together. In fact, I'm green with envy!

Thanks, the fenders are made by Woody's Fenders in Bend, OR. He has so may designs it's hard to decide, but the "Artsy Fartsy's" were love at first sight. They are surprisingly durable and strong, I'll let you know how they hold up, but so far 3 weeks and no scratches, dings or dents. They work and are beautiful... functional art.

Whoa. I think Artsy is just beautiful! Stunning. And I never thought I'd say that about a 'mountain' bike!
