I put cheapo $1 cord locks from REI on my laces and they work just fine. When I move on to the next pair of shoes, I just move the cord locks over to the new laces.
That being said, some sort of quick lacing system like that is very usefull. You tie your shoes quickly and (most important) they stay tied.
Another cheap but useful thing is a race belt. It saves having to deal with pins or having to change shirts to have your race number on your body. You just grab it in T2, snap it on, and go. I have it sitting on my running shoes so I don't forget it.
I would put these at the top of my list for making a tri transition faster.

I just bought some and I love them. (I'm going to get some for my son who destroys the backs of his shoes.)
