Thumbs up Light at the end

    of the tunnel. I don't think it's a train....

I walked away from my last doctor when the only option he would give me was a series of epidurals. I wasn't ready to go that route. He also didn't seem to listen when I told him in addition to my neck problems, my hands and arms were a mess. He kept insisting I just needed to learn to use my mouse and keyboard differently. (Because everyone knows, that's the only thing I use my hands for, right?)

So, I began seeing my acupuncturist again. She has me on a couple of different supplements - magnesium and a "neck formula" from Plum Flower - it's a whole mess 'o herbs. It's been helping, I can actually flip my hair out of my eyes without yelping in pain. But the arms and hands still suck. I got fed up this weekend when I was cleaning up the kitchen, it hurt to wipe off the counters.

Called my PCP, and went in this morning, expecting a fight. Nix. Nada. No arguments. She had no problem with me getting Acu. , or with the fact that I walked away from the epidural. I told her I'd like to try a new PT - one that knows the McKenzie method (there is exactly ONE listed close to me) Told her his name......she says "I know him! He's awesome, he fixed my elbow tendinitis. He is an excellent PT" WOOOOOOOHOOOOO! Better yet - he's on my health insurance list of providers. Yay! I have a new referral coming in the mail.

I am a happy camper tonight.

Snap - hope you get to feeling better soon.

But switching your mouse to your off-hand might actually help. On the advice from someone on this list and my PT, I switched on both my home and work computer, and that helps keep my shoulder from cramping. Although lately it's been letting me know that I haven't been stretching it out like I'm supposed to.

Doing daily tasks shouldn't be severely painful. So hope your PT goes well.
