So how are all the walking wounded today?

Just checking on the rest of the walking wounded on this fine Saturday morning.

Shoulders? I think we have two at the moment...

Scapula in bits and pieces ? How are you ????

    CC??? How are you today?

    Ankle?

    Achilles Tendon ?

    Flu and cold sufferers?

Knee tendonitis...sits and behaves, and does not feel much better. Is frustrated and a bit mad.....

Oh and Yoda...clamshells ....ouch, who knew I had those little muscles....

I had a catastrophic ankle sprain while I was trail running two weeks ago today. It's still swollen, my foot is still funny colors, and I can't do anything but walk and ride my bike- which stinks, because in crappy winter weather I prefer to run! I was also about to start a plyometric training program as well, but jumping is totally out of the question.

I've been posting progress/non-progress on my blog (links below).

I try to look on the bright side- if I wasn't healed enough to ride, I'd be going totally nuts right now!

    shoulder, cold, mad tummy

Let's see .... I think not being on my bike is bad for me....

Since I've stayed off the Advil, and been eating yogurt, the mad tummy is no longer a problem.

Shoulder - two weeks into PT, it's improving. Although Tony was mean to me yesterday and pushed a bit harder while stretching out. BUT, I'm not completely wiped out when I come home from my session like I was before. Although yesterday I did hit the tylenol.

Cold - getting better (it's been a week, it HAS to be better), but I'm still sleeping with 4 pillows.

Tonight the shoulder will get the first real test - begging for Mardi Gras beads at a parade.

Hey Andrea...at least you can walk and ride....you are two up on me....

BMC, I had to stop taking the OTC stuff too. My stomach did a major revolt this week. I had heartburn so bad I could hardly swallow. I am not sure it was helping that much anyway.

The walking wounded check in - funny!!

I had such a busy week work wise, and that plus the less restrictive sling my ortho gave me (the ER sling binds tightly preventing movement and use of my hand) led to super achy arm and shoulder last night. I can't imagine doing much trainer work til it hurts less to jostle. That's ok because my mom's visiting from Maine and she's staying in the exercise room.

Today I will get most of my hair cut off. I cant even put it in a ponytail, so I gotta do something.

Sorry the knee's still being mean, RnR.

BMc - happy mardi gras!!! have fun!

Andrea - oh I am prone to ankle sprains and they blow. At least you're riding - that's probably good fot it anyway!

I'm still chomping down 800mg of ibuprofin 3 times a day. Seems to keep things under control. Yesterday I had to do a lot of data input, my wrists and hands were not happy.

My hair is getting longer, I've discovered I can't do the "hair flip" thing without grabbing my neck. Owww!

    Question

I have a severe case of lizard butt (dragon azz - hee hee). Does that count?

JK - Hope you are all magically healed soon.

Gawd, it took me a minute to figure that out. Maybe I am wasting my time by not taking the percocets. Maybe it's already too late for me.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The girls on the tri forum are used to these kinds of phrases from me. This is your first exposure. You'll get the hang of it soon.

I feel like I'm whining but my foot still hurts. First thing in the morning and any time I have been sitting for a while I look and feel like I'm 90. Actually my 85 year old Mom walks better than I do and I could never keep up with my late paternal grandmother till she broke her hip at 99 so I aspire to feel 90.

With the remodel the bikes are upstairs, tarped and on the rack. I could ride of course but I need to reconfigure my schedule and make time for me. With work starting on the kitchen flooring on Monday I'm clearing things out of that area but I may have to say "stop, I need a ride or a workout now!" sometimes.

I need to lift, stretch and loose weight or at least 2 out of 3.

    wee

I'm getting quite a bit closer to the goal.. I'm not there yet & still have to work on core strength plus getting the glutes & hammies stronger. My knee/leg still "wobbles" a bit but 'that'll hopefully stop once my hammies & glutes are up dere ya know..

I'm happy that i can cycle "normally"-I think I had a mental block about the tightness around my knee and just needed the confirmation from the physio that it's ok & give it a go. YAY..

I missed going to the pool this week as our car died & was only fixed yesterday

I went to my pilates studio and worked on core strengthening stuff for my sholder. I think half of the problem with my clavicle bugging me again is i'm not using the right muscles plus lack core stuff..

So, I am going to work towards the goal of cycling outside by mid feb. I have a bit to go but if i work on the strengthening exercises I should get there.

off to the beach a bit later for a long walk

Maybe there's a little comfort in knowing we're not alone?

I hope everyone feels better and heals fast. I am feeling hatred toward my foot and ankle. I believe my foot and ankle and feeling the same way towards me!
