    LBS in SF?

    Hi, ladies!

DH is leaving for Berkeley on Tuesday. He's wondering which bike shops are near BART stations? He's staying at the Woodfin Hotel in Emeryville. He and the guys he's traveling with will take Hotel shuttle to transit, and they'll head into the city on BART, after they are done their work for the day. Any bike shops near stations on either end would be cool to visit. He's coming home on Friday morning.

Thanks for the info and tips!

    Hugs and butterflies,
    ~T~

Sorry - I can't think of any near BART. There's no BART line to Marin, where I live, regrettably (it would make for such a better commute - and that's where all my bike stores are). Anything in Berkeley near one? I can't think of anything in the city nearby. Best bike shop I know of in the city is City Cycle way down in the Marina. Also Sports Basement, in general, rocks. But they're not near BART either.

Uhm, there are some bike shops near BART stations but none of my favorites.

Berkeley BART station has Mikes Bikes, and Missing Link Collective nearby. Rockridge BART has Hank and Franks ... all in easy walking distance and decent shops I'm sure but not the best of the Bay by far.

Ok, I wrote you a list of my faves, where'd it go

So, apparently the folks from work are also planning to go to Fisherman's wharf and the big Apple store - any bike shops near there?

Trek, your list was good, and I'm sure I can find it again, but I think he's more concerned with proximity to where they're going anyway.....

And are you busy/working all the evenings he's there?

Thanks again and loads of hugs and butterflies to y'all,

Fisherman's Warf? Eh, well I suppose but if you're going to Saaaaan Fraaan Cisco be sure to oh, I'm supposed to be playing tour guide here not singing. Much mo better to go to Embarcadero, see the Ferry Bldg. It's right off BART and if you simply don't have time to get to Sonoma and Marin counties, at least see what small and or organic farms their produce. Good food, views of the bridge, nice to walk around....this is where the locals go NOT F.W.

Of course, DH is not a local, he's a tourist (and not afraid to say so). Are there bike shops near the Ferry Building?

Yabbut if you're a tourist in SF you gotta go to Fisherman's Wharf. They could take Bart to the Embarcadero, walk to the Ferry Building and spend some time there. Then hop a trolly (or walk) to Fisherman's Wharf. Depending on how much time they want to spend, they could see about an Alcartraz tour, although with the oil spill I don't know how these are affected, or any bay tours for that matter.
