    What would you guys do.....

I have an opportunity next month to attend a running clinic being given by two of the best in the off road triathlon business. Two of the pros that I met at Nationals are giving a clinic in a few weeks. It cost 80 dollars. Participants get a video taped analysis of their stride, drills and an 8 week training program. Because I would have to travel they have offered to put me up at their house.

The downside is, it is 5 hours away.

Would you guys go for it?

Before you ask, DH does not want to go and I do not have any running buddies...well except you guys.....

I would do it. DH wouldn't even go just for the road trip?

I think it would be beneficial and the cost seems really good.

    RnRGirl,

My first reaction was - Of course I would go!!

But then I asked, why doesn't DH want to go? So I asked my DH about it....and his first reaction was the same, but when I told him your DH doesn't want to go, my DH had a good question: What city would you be going to?

So I can see that being a pivotal part of the reasoning in the go or don't go argument. Along with: if DH doesn't go, are you interested in going on your own? (me, I'm a fraidy cat, but I'm just waiting for the perfect opportunity to challenge my fears of doing things "on my own", and would look at this one has a possible one).

It sounds to me like you've proven you are dedicated to the sport, you are interested in learning how to be better at, and that the place to stay is really a benefit. In my view, the $80 price tag is low enough, too.

Is there something else you're supposed to be doing the same time this clinic s on? Do you have to miss work or would there be some other "hidden" cost? Is the drive miserable or dangerous to do on your own?

We all have our different reasons for making our decisions. I'm sure you will make the right one for you!

    Hugs and butterflies,

LBTC, you're right. I am quick to become enthusiastic. I also pretty much fly everywhere so I forget just how far away a 5 hour drive is. By yourself, unless you're the type to do those things, that'd be a long way.

I'm pretty independent but a 5 hour drive would be daunting. I don't suppose DH could be bribed to go along?

The clinic is outside of Boston.
I will not have to take off from work.
    It will be crappy drive.
DH does not want to go because he needs a break from my schedule. Everything we have done for the past 9 months has been around my season. Now that my season is over he just wants to go fishing. Completely understandable.

Is there any place nearby he could go play and do his thing, while you do yours?
