Didn't see the thread for today. Not an exciting ride, but I had to share my pictures. We rode around our lake (a 9.5 mile route) 3 times before it got too dark to do more. Just as we're finishing the sun was setting over the lake and I had to take a picture. Sailboats, sun and clouds- so pretty.
THEN, we were heading back to the car and I saw the biggest, surliest snapping turtle I've ever seen. He was angry at the worldand jumped at me as I took his picture. Poor guy. Tried to rescue him, but he wanted nothing to do with me. Hope he made it back home alive before a car got him.

(sorry the pictures are so big- I don't know how to make them smaller on my EasyShare software)

I wonder how old he is- we were guessing maybe 10-15 years old by his size (but I'm no turtle expert). I'm always teasing DH that I want to snag a turtle off the side of the road and take one home- but not if he's going to grow up and be that discontent.
) and my legs are so tired. Got stung my a wasp at 152 km point, but was 1k away from the ER so picked up the waspy culprit and rode over to get checked out. Didn't have to use my epipen because the critter didn't get enough venom into me to cause any damage. (Yay) Now I'm off to eat pizza and drink Sangria!

And then to be rewarded for your effort by getting stung by a wasp? How rude!!
