    Long-ish Runs... 12-4 to 12-6.

Well, for the second week in a row, I have run 4.11 miles at lunch.

The first time I did it in 47 minutes. Today, I did it in 44 minutes.

Overall it felt pretty good and my arches held up without any pain. I got my typical lower leg pain around mile 2, but it was manageable. I will ice the inside of my lower legs tonight, to keep my soft tissue inflamation from flaring up.

These are the 2 longest runs I have done in the past year.

Anyone else do some long-ish runs since the 3rd?

Do good intentions count? I'm doing White Rock this weekend, and SHOULD have run yesterday and today (but didn't). Oh well. It's just an *extended* taper...

Nice job on the runs, KSH! Your time is improving greatly! Just a few short months ago you couldn't even run one mile w/out major pain. So proud of you for "staying the course" and not giving up on your running! Congrats!

Hey, that sounds fast to me! Great job!

I will admit I thought about running, and have all week, but I'm being a good girl. I'm in that dangerous territory between feeling better and probably moving too fast for what my body is prepared for. I'm sure the full day of snowboarding on Saturday wasn't the greatest of ideas, but it felt good to get out.

So, it's yoga and the bike trainer for me. I missed my bike and I sure wish I could ride outside (I'm jealous of KSH's weather!). Of course it waited to snow until the week of my marathon. While I was running I could have been riding, but now that I can ride, the roads are icky... which means I can run. Darn you, nature, and your cosmic ironies.

Next week, I can start running again, but only short distances, 1-2 miles. I'm somewhat afraid I might have lost any speed I gained during marathon training by taking 2 weeks off and 2 weeks easy after that, but I know if I can keep my body in the condition it's in (or close), it will come around.

Looking good, KSH. Come next spring, you'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Hey, it's OK for you to NOT run! You need to rest.

Sorry you can't ride outside. It's chilly here, but with proper clothing, certainly tolerable. Although it's calling for rain this weekend.

Keep taking it *easy* and doing your other stuff... running will always be there.

You are coming to Dallas to run White Rock? We should meet up! I know you will probably be busy though. If you need a place to crash, my apartment is open. You can even have the bed and I'll hit the couch.

I'm suppose to volunteer around mile 18... but if it rains I won't make it.

Well, maybe I'll see you at the race? GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Cool! I would LOVE to meet up, but it's going to be a VERY quick trip. Get to Dallas about 4-pick up packet- head to DH's cousins house in Wylie- run next day and hop in car to make it back to OKC fairly early. We're down in the big D fairly often, so next time I'm down there we'll get together (maybe spring and we can go for a ride).
Thanks for the offer of a bed and place to stay, tho!

Oh, and I'm only doing the half (DH is doing the full), so I won't see you at mile 18. These battered old legs aren't even ready for 13, I know they'd kill me if I attempted 26.

No worries! I figured as much. We can meet up another time.

Good luck to you and your hubby on running your distances. A 1/2 marathon is very impressive... and it sounds like you are going to rock it!
