    Happy Thanksgiving Day rides

I put the turkey in the oven, went out, changed my flat tire on my mountain bike (flatted at the end of my commute last night) and then went out for about a 10 mile ride. It was supposed to rain but it hadn't started yet, it was about 38 degrees, I had a nice ride...not much traffic...my tire stayed inflated, woo hoo. It was nice to get out and ride even if it was short. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

I'm getting ready to ride on the trainer, since it's pouring out. But, yesterday, my husband and I went on a mountain bike ride for about an hour. It was really fun, but we did a bad thing (sorry to all nature lovers here). We went on a trail that is fairly well known, but not used a lot. It connects Concord to the end of the Minuteman Bike Path. Anyway, part of the trail merges with a trail in the Great Meadows Wildlife sanctuary, a beautiful place for bird watching and walking, on the Concord River. At one point, I thought we had made a wrong turn, especially since we went over a bridge I didn't remember. The next thing we knew, we were riding in the sanctuary. it was really nice, gravel paths, with a few little roots and some water (the regular trail had quite a few challenging mud bogs that i did fine on, even clipped in). We noticed that the walkers were giving us dirty looks, even though we were going slow and enjoying the scenery. When we turned around, and entered back into the sanctuary from the road, there was a big sign that said "NO BIKES!" Well, we had to get back, so we went. I wanted to scream "I'm an AMC member, sorry, I love the outdoors." We felt really bad, but secretly, i was sorry that I can't ride here, becuse it's really nice and not technical at all. Oh well. We found the right trail, which looked horribly muddy, but it was starting to get dusky, at 3:30, so we headed back. It was really invigorating and I was proud of myself for staying clipped in the whole time.

It's another sunny day here in LA. Plus, no Santa Ana winds! Got 47 miles on my favorite routes(San Dimas Canyon) and I got to showoff my El Tour De Tucson socks, we had about 10-15 on our club ride and there plenty of other riders out and about

How quickly can you get out here?

That's the question to which I woke up this morning. Mr. Sheesh had intended to meet up with his club this morning for a ride, but it seems he missed them. So, he called me to go out and join him.

30 miles along the lake path. The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze (but not the typical Chicago Wind), and it turned out to be a great ride!

What a way to start the day!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

I rode at sunrise before the drizzle/light rain returned (darn coastal low stuck around most of today). It was 43 degrees and the pavement was wet, but I really enjoyed myself. Very peaceful and low trail traffic. Got in 40 miles, despite a strong headwind at times. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
