OT - My Poor Puppy Girl

Chloe went to an eye specialist today for corneal ulcers. The doc did a corneal debridement, to put it simply, it's supposed to stimulate the ulcers to heal. She's now wearing soft contact lens to protect and soothe her eyes. And of course, THE CONE.

She's so cute! I hope this works. She looks pretty calm there, but you probably gave her a martini.

She was exhausted. Finally got her to relax and lie down, she slept for 2.5 hours, went outside, and is now back in her bed - sans cone. If she starts rubbing her eyes the cone goes back on.

Vet was very reassuring - said it may take time, but the ulcers will heal. She is not in danger of losing her sight. Phew!

Not the dreaded CONE! What a great invention that is, really. Hope she's healing up quickly. Dogs have such a great attitude. They truly accept life on life's terms. Hope you're doing OK with it all, too.

awwwwwwwww... poor chloe!!! brie had to wear one for a couple of months! she had eye issues (they scratched the eye to make a chronic problem an acute problem.. sounds like maybe the same type of thing?)

she'll get used to it! dogs adapt quickly.. she won't like it any better.. but she'll get used to it and navigate with it! i think brie would be jealous that chloe's is red!!!! i know i am!

give her a big hug and kiss from me and a great, big doggie kiss (and butt sniff ) from brie!

All three of my girls have donned the dreaded cone at one time or another. Two of them became quite good at taking it off, too! :-) I hope your beauty is better fast. Give her a big smooch for me!

Is it just me, or does the cone resemble a very large martini glass with a very cute puppy head instead of an olive?

Or perhaps that's just snapdragen's evil influence...

What a beautiful Corgi! We had a Corgi for 12 years before she passed about a year ago, probably the best dog we've ever had. Great personality, good behavior, just a ton of fun. Thanks for sharing your little pup's photo, and I wish her a quick recovery to get rid of the nasty cone!

Thanks for the well wishes all. Chloe has been sans cone all day - she seems to realize if she doesn't rub her eyes, she doesn't have to wear the cone. Corgi's are very smart dogs!

JanT - thank you, I think she's pretty cute myself. When she had pups, one of her daughters looked just like her - same personality too. (Psycho silly)

Yellow - any resemblance to a martini glass is purely coincidental....
