I teach 5th grade so I can read children's literature.I've read two of this year's Newbury Honor books, Feathers and The Wednesday Wars. Both were awesome, make you think kind of books.
I'm 50 pages into George's Secret Key to the Universe by Stephen Hawking and came back to my computer to order more copies. I want to do it as a read aloud when we come back from spring break and it has some awesome pictures from space in it.
Maybe it will hook some of my kids into doing some science reading of their own. That worked with the poetry unit we're doing right now.
