Ace, I have to work Saturday but a shorter and or easy Sunday ride would be just the ticket for the Cindy. Just let me know or post here.

I was planning on doing a longish/hillyish ride with my Cindy training group on Saturday, but I think my knee is too messed up this week.
I'm wondering if there are any Bay Area gals who would be interested in a flattish ride somewhere in the East Bay (Bay Trail?) this weekend? I'd be interested in doing about 20 miles. I'm open to suggestions.
Just putting out feelers...
Cheers,
Amy in Oakland

Cool a rama. I think Sunday's probably better for me anyway. I generally ride the Bay Trail starting in Emeryville (where Chevy's is/was) up to Richmond, sometimes looping through Berkeley. Got any other ideas? I'm open to anything that's pretty flat (except the Alameda loop- I'm sick of that).
Peachy Keen, Emeryville is fine by me. What time do you want to meet up?

How about 10 am? Does that sound ok? You will easily recognize me because I am a big woman with a red bike jersey and red helmet ridng a red Trek hybrid.
Why don't we meet at that corner on the frontage road near Powell St. where you turn into Chevy's. I'll pm you my cell number the night before.
Only caveat is if my knee is even more messed up on Sunday, I won't be riding at all, but I shall pray to the knee gods.
There's a nice map of the Bay Trail here http://www.baytrail.org/map.html

10 sounds fine, let's hope this rain lets up. I'm the short chubby gal and will hereby commit to AV gear of some sort.

The ride, sadly, has been cancelled. The weather looks grim. Hopefully, we can do this ride sometime soon- I'll let you guys know when we do.
....and right as I got off the phone with Ace as if to confirm the heavens opened up and down came <<<< pouring rain >>>>>.
So my dog looks up at me and says "I'd like a walk in the rain![]()

Let's do this ride soon.

The weather radar shows the bulk of the rain has passed, so I'm heading out to do some loops of the Alameda Creek Trail.
A great day for ducks and fenders.![]()

Blue skies above Oakland now, but big ugly gray clouds over the east bay hills. Oh, well. I'm looking forward to the reschedule, and thanks for being so flexible, Trek420.
Gah, it was wiiiiindy!
I only eeked out one full loop of the trail (~ 28 miles), after which the siren song of hot chocolate was impossible to resist.![]()

Jo, I feel for you... the weather was too threatening, and it seemed really windy for a ride, so I went up to the dish at Stanford for a run.... I thought about you riding when I got to the top and man it was windy!!!!! I couldn't even imagine being on a bike by the bay! but you must have had one heck of a tail wind on the way home (at least I hope you did!).
But I had a good run... ran over 3/4 of the dish and made it up all the hills... yay!
Now watching the Wisconsin-Ohio State basketball game... GO BADGERS!!
