    The shopping report:

After a walk with the mutt (during which she flew across the greenspace area when she saw her dog walker across the way. I let her do that, there would have been no stopping her "there's my friend, there's my friend!" ) I took off into Oakland to pick up Spazzdog.

We set out by BART into the city.

We could have taken the bikes or there's a shuttle from Civic Center but we walked from there to the Velo Swap.

The venue was more comfortable, less confusing and cleaner than the cow palace but seemed smaller probably because it is.

There were fewer whole bikes than last year, lots of frames but I'm not looking for another bike either whole or in part. There were some incredible refurbished classic bikes. And of course i forgot to bring my camera

I was looking for deals on clothes particularly the kind of shorts and gloves I like but saw nothing in that line. That's ok, I have 7 shopping months till the AIDS ride. I did *cough cough* find some things for UK Elephant.

Spazzdog says "hi", she's working hard, she looks good (her technician job at Chevron has her walking 5-7 miles a day fixing their telecomunications systems) and she's doing some incredible photography. I saw her latest works and it's more like painting than anything I've ever seen done.

We'll get together again soon, maybe breakfast at Lois the Pie Queen when Knot's in town?

Trek, didn't see this post til i'd gotten home from veloswap.

this was my first. a little overwhelming with all the peeps grabbing things (i was there @ 10). a little frenetic.

i kept noticing myself stopping and looking at the pretty bikes and then shake myself.. "uh you don't need a new bike." i did this at least 10 times.

i found myself a nice sugoi jacket and a jersey and a box of gu. and i got myself some stuff to clean my bike @ the finishline booth. nice guy. i'm hoping to give my baby a bath today.

not a bad show but when you're there early it's a bit crazy. i caught a part of a conversation between some of the booth folks talking to each other and the snatch i caught was "... ya, all the hard core folks were here early and they're all gone by now..."

oh, btw, i *thought* i saw you @ the show in passing but wasn't sure and didn't want to scare some poor soul so a belated "HI!"
