Does this bag make my butt look big?

I posted this pic in Thread Drift, but I want more comments. I'm needy that way. I can't decide if I like my new Banana Bag.

Well, what's it for? Do you commute, or carry a lot of stuff around?

I think it's one of the better looking bike bags I have seen.

Sure, black would have been a nice color... to match your bike and to keep the dirt from showing... but overall... it looks very nice and functional!

I like it. and since it's a bigger bag, it will make your butt look LITTLE.

I like it. I use this Carradice bag on my mixte, because the Banana bag was out of stock. My bag is even bigger, but I've decided I like it. It's our picnic bag and I don't really use it for anything else, but bicycle picnics have become one of my favorite spring/fall activities. I can fit a tablecloth, cups and plates, a bottle of wine or juice, and a full lunch for two in there, and still have room for a pump and tool kit and a camera.

My husband thought the bag was ridiculous at first, until our first picnic when I pulled out a bottle of wine and lunch for two, including unsquished bread.

I really like the bag. It is a larger bag, but I am guessing you carry a lot with you? I have been wanting to get one for my husband. I love the look of the bag. IMO it is one of the nicest lookig bags I have seen. My theory-for what it is worth, big bag=smaller bum.

Okay, I am newish and I need to know-why are these cages better? I am currently using the black ones that came with my Trek but yours look sweet. Where did you get them and why these over the others. Inquiring minds need to know.

They may look sweet, but they are very pricey - $40 at Rivendell, and $45 at Peter White Cycles. (Then again, maybe Snap has a better source for them than I found with a simple web search looking for nitto bottle cages.) Compare that with more standard (and yes, probably heavier) bottle cages ranging from $5 to $15, and choose where you want to spend your cycling dollars.

    Lifted From the Rivendell Website

This might be the prettiest thing Nitto makes, and we've yet to see anybody hold it in their hand without reaching for their wallet with the other. If a water bottle cage can be beyond words, this one is. It holds securely in any position, and we believe there is no finer (or better) cage made. The copies are already popping up. No respect!

Thirty -five dollars is a whopping lot for a bottle cage, but this one is fillet-brazed by hand, which makes that $35 seem like a bargain. The perfect gift for cyclists who can't bring themselves to spend $35 on a bottle cage. If you put one on your bike, and you'll want another. Right there's your warning. 53g.

Please note: If you are using this (or any) cage on the underside of the downtube, you will be better off strapping the bottle in with a toe strap to keep it from working loose or breaking the cage. Cages were not really design to take the kinds of forces that you get with the underside mounting, so it is a good idea to give it that extra support. Or just use a $10 ALE chromed steel cage down there, and save yourself $25.

I have them on my Rivendell. I'm a sucker for things that are handmade.

They are sweet looking, but at this price, I will need to add them to my wish list. Sadly, school supplies for the boys must come first-sometimes I hate being responsible. Thank you fopr the information on them.

Until I become a much, much better cyclist, I think I will stick witht he cages my bike came with. They appear to work well for now. I will keep these in mind and definitely add them to my wish list. My Christmas list just keep growing and growing. And here DH thought this would be an inexpensive family hobby.

I thought the Nitto cages were really pricey too, until I saw what the LBS was charging for super-zoot carbon fibre cages. yeeks. And the Nitto cages are waaay prettier.

They make a nice gift for a cycling enthusiast.
