I just love my LBS! I went in today and bought shoes and clipless pedals (speedplay) The guys in there are so helpful. Explained everything to me and gave me accurate information. I had already researched pedals and what not but they confirmed everthing I had read. Then they ask about my riding and how I am doing 'cause they know I'm a noob. Telling me about local rides I should try and don't worry about being slow. The guy had me get in and out of the pedals several times just to make sure I was comfortable and said "that's great your doing good, your gonna love riding even more now" I never get treated that way anywhere I shop.
I live in Birmingham Al. the store is Bob's Bikes I shop at the Vestavia location but they also have one in Homewood.

I love my LBS, too. Stuff might be cheaper on the internet, but you just can't replace good folks!

I just luuuuurve mine too! I think I just got maybe the best service ever and great discounts when I bought my Shimano sandals and they replaced my brake pads (or whatchacakk them..). The guy was soooo nice that I'm trying to think what else I could buy from him

I love my LBS too! We've purchased 4 brand new bikes from him in the last year and have gotten great service before and after the sale. He always gives us a great price; heck, I don't think he's any more expensive than ordering online. If he doesn't have what you need/want, he gets it. I really like the fact that he's a rider, so he KNOWS his stuff!!

If you're ever in Rolla, Missouri, look up Route 66 Bicycles and say howdy to Dan.

Hey, that's the one I use too!! and I agree, they are the best, willing to take the time out to answer anything I need, make suggestions about any problems I'm having, and going out of their way on so many things. I love the guys there. They're so much better than the "other" store in the area, where my other female friends and I have all had problems with. I wish I could take them to Huntsville when I move, as I've heard that the LBS's up there aren't as good, and apparently a lot of people drive to Birmingham to use Bob's bikes. Oh well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I love my LBS too! the guys are great! If in Rhode Island, check out The Hub on Brook Street. Ask for Jack, Jesse or Hannah. tell them the chick from Velocite (the shop I used to work at) sent you.

They treat everyone well! the shop is frequented by messengers, newbies, commuters, roadies....

In Amherst, Mass (when I'm at school) I go to Laughing Dog. They replaced my headset at a discount b/c I'm a student (again). Very nice guys!

I love my LBS, Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito. Tony's the Jedi Master of bikes. Tim's a wrench for the Sierra Nevada team. There's another guy who was in the East German sports training program with Jens Voight. They have great stuff to drool over. They do great work.

I need to bring them a six pack when I pick up the bikes today or tomorrow....

Yuk. Not at the same time!

We should come up with a sticker they can put in their window: Team Estrogen Love Us.

Or: This LBS endorsed by Team Estrogen!

TE stickers for our beloved bike shops would be a great thing! What a good idea!

I need to take "my" shop a six pack. Another good idea.
