However, I think I'm not going to do this one, since I'm hoping for the Cindy. I guess if I don't get into the Cindy I'll do this one, though. Gotta have something to train for!!

I'd love to actually do both of them, but I don't know if I can afford to do both of them! All those registration fees add up when you got 6 mouths to feed and an astronomical mortgage!!

Yah, no kidding. I will have to limit myself to three centuries again this year and try to say no to all the jerseys.....

    I'm thinking:

    1) Grizzly Peak
    2) Marin Century
    3) and either Tahoe or Napa century
    Cheers!

Queen of non-movtivation here. I am going to finally get on the dang bike - I'm helping with my club's Cindy training rides this year. For me the definates are

    Cinderella
    Holstein 100

I'm seriously looking at the SLO Wildflower in April - mainly because I love the jersey this year. http://www.slobc.org/Wildflower.html

Oh! I want one too! And matching socks!

I've just spent the past 10 minutes trying to figure out if "Volamus ut edamus" (part of the SLOBC motto) really does mean "We ride to eat" - seems more like "we fly as we are eating" or something. Where is Veronica the Latin Linguist when you need her?

Ah, the SLO Wildflower is the same day as DMD, and a day before the Chico Wildflower...

Edited to get my Wildflowers straight.

Cool ! I see they're on Sundays (I don't know why when I first checked the schedule I thought they were Saturdays, not enough coffee this morning I guess) so since I plan to do the Western Wheelers LDT rides on Saturdays, I can join you folks on Sundays. The joys of no Academy, the weekends are mine, bwah hah hah !

Don't you just love how all the good rides are clustered in the month of April ?

I did Holstein 100 last year. I have to say it was my favorite. Perhaps because
    1) it was my last century ride for 2005
    2) it was my first century on my new bike (Miss Dulce de Luna - the pink Orbea)

It was a challenge getting up the big climb with my new compact double (my bike with the triple and 34 in the back was stolen). I was really encouraged by the other riders to stick it out when I was about to give up. One guy in particular coached me up the most challenging climb of the day. I ended up sticking with him and his friends the rest of the ride. We even took our picture together at one of the picture areas along the way. Dinner afterwards with them was a blast - they all had a great sense of humor.
    Cheers!

OK jobob - I'll bring the bottle.

Cindy - I have to agree about the people on Holstein - always encouraging those they see struggling....and I got a lot of encouragment last time I rode it! Besides that, I love the area.

I'll probably do at least one more ride during the season, but not so close together. Blaine ordered me a Cindy jersey, so I really want to do that one... besides the fact that a whole bunch of us should be there!!

Maybe the Holstein will be my other ride. I'll have to work my tail off for that one.

yep, it was foggy in the morning when I started. Funny I could smell the holstein cows but I couldn't see them... Once the fog cleared, I enjoyed a great day out in the grass lands with little traffic and lots of friendly folk.

I'm looking forward to the Marin Century in 2006....
    Cheers!
