The hardest thing for me is staying balanced while I travel for work. I miss my home, my cat's, my friends, my things. I find it hard to stay balanced. I try to stick to a routin if the trip let's me but alas it goes haywire at some point. I try to meditate in the morning's, but it is hard when you are sharing a 1 room hotel room. And doing yoga can be really hard. On this job it is around 100 every day and we are in the full sun all day. When I get back around 6:30 -7:00 I am wrecked for night. I cool shower, a beer and tons more water and I am ready to sleep. I try I really do to keep level headed and try and enjoy what is around me. And not just see work, sleep, eat work ,sleep , eat and try not to think of what I am missing at home. I have been doing this for 20 years now you would think I would have it down by now.
I will take all or any suggestions
Now my next job in South Carolina next week (after getting a whole 4 days home) we have a little apartment type place we stay in. Actually has a living room, full kitchen (earth fare market right down the street, like a Whole foods) and 2 bedrooms. Lot's of room to have a private a moment to meditate or do yoga.
I am feeling home sick right now. And being in this heat all day.....zaps you.
Here is a picture of my friend I visit every morning before I start sculpting.
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Homesick and fatigued from the heat. That's a tough combo and I sympathize with you. It's no wonder you feel at wits end. If the hotel/motel has an indoor pool maybe you could spend 15-20 minutes swimming in the morning, it would be out of the sun and give you a chance to "zone out" and have a bit of alone time. Also try to focus on the carrot of being home when this job is over. Sun all day and those temps can make a person crazy, hang in there.
Today was sooooo hot! But had a nice Indian dinner and a VERY cold beer. The pool is a great idea I am going to try and do that this week. I only have 3 more days. Just 3 more days. Then 6 days off 4 1/2 of those at home. Yea (happy dance) If I can fit a bike ride in I would be soooo happy!

How long are your road trips? Would you consider getting a folding bike and putting it in a suitcase so you can ride while you're on the road? It may make you feel less homesick if you're doing something you love.
I travel a lot for my job so I know exactly how you feel
I'm homesick at times because I had to move to a completely different province....for a job. But there is the hard reality of earning some money. It does help a tad to cycle.
My partner was frustrated that he barely had time left to do any cycling when he was....attending and speaking at a cycling conference in Taiwan for 3 days. The hosts wanted to show him stuff quickly.....in a car.
Hope you find opportunities to occasionally cycle.
