Though Emily is the real champion right now, I want to CELEBRATE that my 8-mile "training loop" is too short! I gotta add a couple miles, and everything is getting better - my lungs, my muscles, and my comfort on the bike. While I was riding, two little haiku-like poems came into my head.
I thought someone
was passing on
my left -
but it was
my braid
flying in the wind.
(and)
Here is the shady spot
where I always rest.
Today, my legs
keep going.
Everyone just starting to get in shape - remember to love yourself and celebrate every step - as someone said here, no accomplishment is too small to share. (I love that one!) and thanks to everyone who encouraged me when I felt so lousy.![]()

LLB ~ I love your poems! They say so much in just a few words. You definitely have a lot to celebrate - congratulations!
I am more than happy to share the winner's podium with you!![]()

Congrats, latelatebloomer,
I'm smiling with you!
Nice words! Very serene.
At the moment my cycling haiku would be something more along the lines of:
Bloody red lights and
buses way bigger than me -
bring on singletrack!
You gals are talented! Keep the biking haikus coming!
(And congrats! on the improvements latelatebloomer!)
I Loved all 3 haikus! but the one about the braid - yup.......I can identify with that one! thanks for sharing!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
Nice one, my kiwi friend! This is fun! C'mon, everyone, don't be shy!![]()
