Ouch! Poor Jeff. And what a list of damage! Glad he's ok and not badly injured, but in true cyclist style sorry to hear is fave jersey took a hammering. Can he get a replacement or will it now be resigned to the Wall of Fame?

Looks like he might be after a new set of wheels too... Any excuse eh!

Hope he's back in the saddle soon.

    Ouch! ouch! ouch!

I too found it very interesting the Jeff worried about his bike first and himself second.

Jeff - I'm sending wishes your way for a fast recovery for both you (most important) and your bike. I know it's very hard to not jump back on right away, but please give your body time to heal.

and Susan - Everyone should have a friend like you who is happy to pick up the pieces nicely.

What rotten luck! That's how I managed to knock out my ride partner last weekend - stopped too suddenly in front of her to take a left turn and she couldn't unclip fast enough. She went down on her elbow. Pile on the cookies and hope they have a healing effect!!

    Hugs to Jeff And Susan!

So sorry to hear about the boo-boo!....give Jeff Loads of hugs and cookies and kisses and attention and a new Over-The-Bar-Scar-Club Jersey from Primal to make up for tearing his fave Hill Slug one! and glad to hear everything is gonna be ok - although I can tell ya from experience a break might've been better, sprains are toughies to get healed!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Susan- I don't know if you realize that your are talking to the Cookie Forum! That's right! What we do best (besides loving cycling) is making cookies for our bike pals. If we lived up your way, Jeff would be deluged!

As it is, I send my get well wishes to Jeff and hope he recovers soon especially now that warmer weather and Spring is around the corner for you all!

Accidents do happen so don't beat yourself up too much . You are forgiven for being human like the rest of us

Since we can't send cookies, how about the new Cookie Monster jersey to replace his fav Hill Slug???

Lesson learned about keys in the jersey. I wonder how much less damage would have been done if he didn't have his keys in his pocket. I'm gonna think twice about what I stash back there!

    Take good care of him!

Next weekend is the annual Salem Bike Club Monster Cookie Ride http://www.salembicycleclub.org/majrides/majrides.html . We absolutely HAD to have that Pearl Izumi Cookie Monster Jersey for that ride. Since this is a great ride to do on our tandem, we both had to have one. (*gasp* Don't tell anyone that Susan from TE is going to wear a MEN's Jersey! What choice did I have? It's COOKIES! And we lobbied for months, to no avail, to get Pearl to make them in Women's sizes. Sigh.) The bike club has cookies at every rest stop!

I can tell you that Jeff, cookie lover that he is, always looks forward to this ride. But with his wrist the way it is, it looks like I may have to captain the tandem and take him along for the ride...

Maybe you could get them to make a Captain Underpants jersey? I've got a list of friends, large and small, who would need one as a gift. Notice, I did not refer to the large friends as adults.

OH! I want to ride in a ride like that one! I've only done one organized ride (and between the snow and 40 mph winds I bailed after 40 miles) and they only had Paydays and bananas.

THanks for trying with Pearl for the women's jersey! That's what I was waiting for - now, I guess I'll have to go for it. My BF, on the other hand, is destined for Oscar the Grouch. Basically because he doesn't see why I want the Cookie Monster one so badly!

Good luck on the tandem! Sounds like fun!

Cookies are the key (to my tummy)! Yumm....Coookkkiees mmmyyumyum Take care Jeff!

Ya, I am going to use this as a lesson, I always store the keys in back pouch.

I am going to get that cookie monster jersey in a couple of weeks...too cute!
and the socks, either the sesame street sign or the cookie monster ones.
    Distraction:
My kids have grown older and don't watch the program but I still love to see the characters. Jim Hensen fan for life. Remember the Muppet Show? the two old guys, miss piggy showing her femine side yet had GirlPower! lol
The Dark Crystal had cool puppets too!
    Who's your favorite?
Cookie Monster! even without presently suffering PMS symptoms, the cookie stuffing is classic, and of those who need the emotional and physical moment filled, NOW! What better way to express this to the public but that of a CM jersey!
