Posting this here to avoid offending on FB

I've found that strangers are often more receptive to weight-loss/getting in shape success than people who actually know you, (we can examine the psychology behind that one some day) so I'm posting this here because I don't want to post on FB and I'm excited and want to share with somebody.

I'm going through the closets and thinning out stuff...I posted recently about that project. Anyway I have a dress that I wore in 1993 to a party that I've saved in case I ever wanted to wear again.
Yeah....I'm thinking I probably won't given that so much time has passed...regardless, I tried it on, and it's too big! It's a size 7/8. yay! I'm 39 and was convinced I'd been sentenced to a certain genetic future. I'm pretty thrilled that I'm smaller heading into 40 than I was in my early twenties!

    Thanks!

I attribute it to CrossFit and to a Paleo-ish diet.

In other words - heavy weightlifting without fear of "bulking up" like so many women are terrified of doing. It's just not going to happen. We don't have the right hormones. And I got rid of the carbs that I was so used to having with each meal. You don't need them. I cut way, way down on all grains and dairy and, of course, sugar. I mostly eat meat/fowl/fish/eggs and fruits and veggies and nuts and berries. I still eat too much sugar. That's a struggle I fight constantly, especially because when you try not to eat it, it seems like people always offer it!

"The Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson was very helpful. It changed my outlook on food. I really look at it as fuel and not so much as a treat or as a social thing.

    That's wonderful! Good for you.

I am trying to get back into the jeans I wore before I started a round of hormone therapy in '09.
