Question Looking for a New Bike

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I'm looking for a new bike. Suggestions welcome.

I'm now riding a steel Rodriguez Stellar which I've had since 04. I'd like something lighter, probably carbon. I am over 60, and an avid rider and do like hills, but I'm slow. (Hopefully a lighter bike will help with that.) I'm 5'2" and about 125.

I'd like to hear from anybody who has recently gone thru the new bike search and your experiences.

    TKX in advance.

well, you've got steel, why not try titanium? I am a few years younger than you and also ride a steel bike. But what I know to be true is that I am a slower cyclist. I don't think the bike will make a whole lot of difference. There are things you can do to train yourself to ride faster that really help. But if you're wanting a new bike... come to Seattle, we've DOZENS of great bike shops that can help you with that.
