Everyone does have bad rides so don't worry. This is something that happens to me and I don't know how to explain it? A hormone spike or something?

If I ride a day or two before my period starts, those are the very best rides I ever do. I feel stronger than I ever feel.

I've always wondered why that is?

I feel ya - my periods so horrible (due to medical reasons); we're talking, I miss work because of them. Terrible, terrible pain. But they are also extremely heavy, and I'm already anemic anyhow. When it's that time of the month, I can forget about crushing hills - I have no iron left to circulate any oxygen at all; I tire easily. It sucks!!

I have been on Depo Provera for quite a while... I haven't had a period in several years. I LOVE not getting my period, and I actually found that the particular hormones in Depo have made me less emotionally "flighty". I think it is often estrogen that is responsible for mood swings, and Depo is progestin-only. I'm a big fan, although I know it doesn't work for everyone. There is a low-dose version now as well.

That's the way I was before the pill. It can't be put into words how much my quality of life has improved. Not to mention cutting out all the crying/yelling/overeating/achy mess I was the week before as well. I seem to be lucky that the first one I tried (Yaz) has worked just fine for me.

I'm never sure if I should click on your links or not, Zen--there may be unattractive men in bicycle shorts or worse
