    Healthy cookies!

I have been making these and they are a hit where ever I take them.

For variation I alternate using 1/2 cup Enjoy Life Vegan Semi sweet chocolate chips in place of the raisins. I have also used both Oat and Buckwheat flours instead of white wheat flour. I use ground flax seed for the first ingredient.

The best part is that they are healthy and taste great at the same time!

Those sound mighty tasty. But I'm not a huge fan of maple syrup (except for when it's on pancakes or waffles..lol)...so I'm wondering if honey would be an okay substitute there?

I dont use honey (being vegan) but I did substitute half the syrup with agave and you could not tell the difference. I wouldnt say you even taste the maple in it. The flavor is more the oats and banana to me!

So is that your blog, Dee?

I used to bake a banana-chocolate chip cookie. The cookies stayed soft and lovely for a few days in an airtight container.

Very ripe bananas can add alot of sweetness, thereby cutting down the sugar even more in recipe.

crazycanuck: The ground flax is an egg replacer so I would guess one egg.

One batch I made, I mixed all the ingredients and forgot the flax sitting on the counter! They baked up just fine and were just as moist as the other batch. One time I ran out of maple syrup and replaced 1/2 with agave and that was fine too. I am kinda experimenting as I go. Most of the ingredients I already had on hand. I use all organic except the maple syrup cause that is crazy expensive unless you buy the $30+ jug I like that the oats give them texture and balance to the sweet, especially the one with chocolate chips!

One of the guys from the bike shop placed really well in a crit yesterday and I told him it was the cookies. He is calling them Turbo Cookies now!
