It was a dark and stormy afternoon... battling a blinding headache as I sat at my computer generating end-of-year reports for my homeschooled daughters... the rain fell in torrents -- except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets... in a rather snarly mood since I've been sick for the past week and a half, and have only been out on the bike once... rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness... how depressing can this day possibly be??
And then... a sodden DH arrives with the mail...
What's this?! A package?!! For me?!!!
Birds sang! A rainbow appeared! Flowers burst into bloom!
My Secret Sister rode to the rescue with the most incredibly wonderful assortment of goodies -- an angel on two wheels! Socks -- I love socks! Chocolate -- I love chocolate! Flower seeds, postcards, gels, reusable shopping bag -- I love it all!!! Even the Henry VIII stamp on the package. Unfortunately, my girls don't seem to appreciate fine music and my rather robust attempts at, "I'm Henery the Eighth, I am! Henery the Eighth I am, I am!"
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
