Yes.... since a bit before then, even.

Been waiting for money. I have money now. I'm starting to think I may look into buying a used bike with nice components and using that to build up a Soma BV. I really can't bear to give up my Surly, when it gets right down to it.

But that would mean I'd have FOUR and a half bikes. That might be too many, but I can't imagine selling any of my current 3 1/2. 'Cept maybe the half. Which I was kind of planning to eventually turn into an Xtracycle. www.xtracycle.com

I'm leaning more and more toward buying a used bike for parts and building up a BV frame as a project to keep me sane this fall and winter. (this will be S'Knot's first year away from home in college, and I will need a project)

I lean toward the graphite gray frame, but I have fond memories of a white Nishiki bike I had in the 1970's. Maybe I want the cream/white BV?

What I want most of all is the headbadge with the Sutro tower...

I've seen the white BV frame in person. It's nice. If I'm keeping my black Surly as-is, there is no reason for me to choose graphite over white.

Decisions, decisions... (a few months leeway)

Too bad you and Knot require different sizes.
Trek420's already got a mixte, a lovely green-tea Motobecane. It actually didn't fit me too badly when I had the saddle way up to the sky.

I liked the two Konas I had... gonna have to check out the Kona mixte.

I waded through this thread and read the chatter concerning Soma mixte sizing & fit. Let me preface my remarks by saying I am a bike shop owner and have a sizeable female customer base (I've built road, cross, mtb, singlespeed, touring, TT, and commuter/town bikes for dozens of women and all were frame up builds - no bikes out of a box.)

And I just finished a Buena Vista for a woman who plans to pick it up shortly (I'll post some photos soon). In order to possibly start a bit of a dialogue I'll lead off by saying that a majority of the fears, comments, concerns, and what ifs, etc., about the Buena Vista not being suitable for women are simply unfounded and unfortunate.

You may find the majority of these "fears, comments, concerns, and what ifs, etc.," are from several years ago. Before Buena Vistas were widely available and were still an unknown quantity. It is an old thread.

There are several women on this forum who have since purchased Buena Vistas without incident.
Existence is empty, but I am full of myself.

A hale and hearty welcome to TE Let's see the bike.

I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread, or hope people are still looking at this one. I'm just looking for any updates to the Soma purchases. How are they, how's the ride, the fit? All that. As long as it's still snowing, I'm still at the computer, looking at all the potential purchases.

I got one, too. My husband bought me the frame for our anniversary in March, but I am still collecting the various pieces I need to build it up. I can't wait to ride it but it'll be awhile still.
