yes, Raleighdon's commute is 20mph winds AND 100% saturated rain. lovely weather. No tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms or high heat.
I drove today I had to pick up his father's day present. (That's my excuse and i'm sticking to it!)

I'm in the "I'm from the East and Prefer Rain and Wet to Super Hot and Humid" camp.

We were driving up from San Francisco back to Vancouver (BC) over the past week and didn't get much good weather, sadly. Yet, I still find the fog enchanting. It gives us really big and green trees. I've chosen my camp.

And I'll take the basement microbrews any day over fruitcake!!!!

Red face Weather and other bike stuff

Stellar 1 here. Member for about a year. Back riding after knee replacement.

Yes, the weather is awful. I rode yesterday with winter gear. I haven't taken the toe warmers off my shoes yet and won't until it gets warmer.

Does anyone know of good bike trails/routes around Ellensberg or near there (easy to get to, ride and return in one day)? I'd be interested as it's pretty easy to go there and ride and return. Except, of course, if there isn't snow on the pass (in mid June, no less). Would appreciate any feedback on this.

Also, has anyone tried a Topeak Allay saddle (allaysaddles.com)? I saw these at the Bike Expo and am vaguely interested in trying one. They have an open center with a fabric covering which should greatly reduce rub and the usual grief associated with long rides. I like aerobars and leaning forward for long periods of time causes some added pressure.

    Stellar 1

There's no doubt about this one!

But, seriously, we had lightning, thunder and power outages, along with howling sideways heavy rain! Lost power during cooking dinner. What gives?

Supposed to try out the wetsuit at the lake tomorrow... I'm afraid!!!!

Well, y'all should see today in Eastern Oregon. Raining, cold, windy, windy, windy. Of course, on television they call that "breezy". Hah! I always considered a breeze pleasant. This is anything but pleasant.

Eastern Washington isn't much better. We set a record low last night 37 degrees. I'm almost back to wearing my full winter commuting clothes! I hate June! It's such a teaser month. bikerHen

And they even got snow last night up at the pass!

Crazy weather! I will never be ready for my big ride in July. Come on Mother Nature . . . what gives!?!

Back east they are having a heat wave. I called my sister and she was complaining about how hot it was yesterday. 92! I told her to send me 20 degrees. This way she can have 72 ad I can have 70! Wouldn't that be nice?
