Smile 31st Annual Daffodil Classic

Posted this under Northwest but had to share my great day yesterday so to repeat . . .

Yesterday Joe and I worked the Lake Tapps rest stop for the 31st annual Daffodil Classic. We were the morning shift. Our daughter even showed up around 10 AM to help too. The weather was absolutely perfect! We were swamped! It must have been the weather! Here is a link of some pictures I took at the rest stop . . .

After we turned our shift over to the afternoon crew, around 12:30, Joe, Jackie, and I did the ride. What an awesome ride we had, too!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Sue

My boss did that ride yesterday. She did the 100 mile loop, I think. It sounds like a huge amount of fun!

In fact, that sure looks like her in pics 2, 4,and 5. Tall brown hair with a camelback on a purple Seven. She was riding with some guys (one is my son's orthodontist) and ended up getting back to the cars long before they did.

That's awesome that your boss did the 100 mile course KnottedYet! She must really be in great shape! Yes, all the riders that stopped at our rest stop had the same comments . . . great day, great ride, and having fun! After my shift I jumped on my bike and rode too. It was glorious! I hated to see the day end.

Yes, that is my boss in those pictures! And my son's orthodontist, too! I couldn't figure out how to print them, so she pulled them up on her computer and we all hung over her shoulder to look. How totally cool!

Today at work we had 3 employees bikes parked in the building, and one (boss's purple Seven) on top of a car in the parking lot. Two of us commuted, and the other two were going for a ride after work.

Thank you so much for posting those pictures. I want to do that ride next year. (the SHORT version!)

Smile Original picture size at WebShots

Hi,

You can download (I believe) the original picture from my WebShots here:

http://community.webshots.com/album/549785695vOnnnt

Find the thumbnail with your boss, click on it, then on the next page click "view full size" which will bring your picture up . . .

Click to expand and you can really see the detail.

I hope you will do the ride next year! I have done the Daffodil Classic the last 5 years. This year was definitely the best out of the five . . . weather wise! Just gorgeous!

You're so lucky to have people (and your boss) cyclists! Commuting and everything! I am the only cyclist in where I work. BUT I may have one of the teachers interested. She came up to me and said she bought a bike and is interested in starting to seriousally ride. I am taking her out tomorrow after school on one of our local trails for an easy first ride! I hope I can get her enthusiastic about riding. Maybe it will snowball?

Sue

Great! I wonder if your son's orthodonist knew he was getting his picture taken that morning? I tried to be inconspicuous. Which photo is he in again?
