Chickwhorips: Ok...so maybe it's not too long of a story, but it is stupid..LOL! Back when I got my first computer I was talking to my boss about good names for AIM. He suggested something and the subject came up about oxymorons. So I told him he had to create a "moronman" name and I'd get "oxygirl". Well, I had oxygirl for awhile, but when I got married and we didn't need 2 AOL accounts I gave up the oxygirl name. Now that we don't have AOL anymore I use oxysback because most of the time oxygirl is already taken.

There...now you know the whole silly story! ROFL!! Aren't you glad you asked?

CorsairMac: You know...I don't think he ever lived up to his end of the bargain! Too bad I don't work with him anymore or I'd give him a hard time about it.

    I'm new here

    Real name: Regina
Where do you live? Silver Spring, Md

Explanation of your handle: Uh...my name.

Explanation of your avatar: A Seven Axiom...my main ride.

    Age (general or specific) 38

    Occupation: Fishery Manager

    Favorite bike: Seven Axiom ti

What's in your stable? Aforementioned Seven, Klein Palomino (that sadly hasn't seen dirt in WAY too long), Felt SR81 for commuting, and an old Schwinn cruiser just because....

Fastest speed on a road bike? I hit 40 last weekend heading down Ednor Rd. in Howard Co.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? I guess I couldn't get the file to upload

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: About biking?? Or life in general? Don't recall telling a bald-faced lie outright. But maybe that's a lie right there! : )

Most memorable moment on my bike: I have a few bad experiences that are pretty memorable -- they usually result in scars or torn clothing. Best moment was not ON my bike, but because of my bike...I met my husband while doing a weekly ride with my LBS.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Every ride where I don't bonk is fun. Doing the Seagull Century when I did it in 2000 was a hoot.

Welcome to the board Regina. My first thought when I saw your name was the Coronation Anthems by Mozart of which the most well-known starts with "Regina Caeli"! Long live the queen! :-D

(and yeah: I got one of those MTB bikes that sure looks purty and clean)

    Real name: Terri

Where do you live? Highland, CA

Explanation of your handle: First three letters of my first name and first three letter of my maiden name. It was my log on at work for so many years, I just use it everywhere now!

Explanation of your avatar: Haven't quite come up with one yet.

Age (general or specific): 33 (until December)

    Occupation: Safety & Environmental Coordinator

    Favorite bike: Specialized Dolce

What's in your stable? Specialized Dolce, a beach cruiser (something relatively generic from Sport Chalet). The rest of the stable is filled up with my husband's collection.

Fastest speed on a road bike? Only about 25 mph. I'm still not very comfortable with hills, up or down.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Will post soon. Having technical difficulties.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Does hiding shopping bags filled with new clothes and shoes from you husband really count as lying?

Most memorable moment on my bike: In June my husband and I took a "cycling vacation" up and down CA. We were on a trail heading to Folsom Dam going up a 7% grade, which was a huge challenge for me (not a climber...yet.) As I was climbing the hill there, were a couple women fixing a flat on the side of the trail and they cheered my on as I was obviously struggling. I later passed them when I was heading back down the hill and nearly got teary eyed as they congratulated me on making it to the top.

Most fun ever had on a bike? On the afore mentioned trip in June, Chris (my husband) and I rode over the Golden Gate Bridge. That day's ride wasn't very long, but we had so much fun just soaking in the beautiful view, meeting new people and trying to avoid the pedestrians.

    Real name: Joy

    Where do you live?
The beautiful and lovely South Bay in Southern California

    Explanation of your handle:
Japanese translation of my last name means "Blue Tree' in English

    Explanation of your avatar:
Painting I did a few years ago

    Age (general or specific)
Hitting the big 4-0 soon. Ugh.

    Occupation:
    Artist of throughbred race horses.

    Favorite bike:
    Specialized Dolce Elite

    What's in your stable?
I work in stables so I try to avoid them at home.

Fastest speed on a road bike?
Do you mean riding or falling?

Another picture of yourself or your ride?
    www.joyaoki.com

What is the biggest lie you've ever told:
"No, I don't think your horse's knees are THAT offset"
(What is the biggest line of tact you've ever told: "Well, he does have a pretty face")

Most memorable moment on my bike:
Haven't had one yet - I just bought it

Most fun ever had on a bike?
Does crashing count as fun? Then I've had lots of fun. Not nearly as bad as falling off a 16H thoroughbred, though.

Welcome to the board one and all!

Terpin: no ma'am, hiding shopping bags and/or cutting off tags and saying "this ol thing?" does not constitute lying! I'm thinking those are just basic marriage survival techniques!

Blue: Holy Smokes that's a painting? The image is so amazing I thought it was a photo. You do awesome work: got any more pictures to share?.....who is the most famous thoroughbred you've ever painted?

as for falling: well yeah - sometimes the falling part is fun too.....like when you can't get unclipped and your hands are still on the flats and you just kinda tip over like a tree! LOL (of course not that I would Ever know anything about that )

Thanks CM, I'm doing a commission right now of John Henry, who is 31 and still kicking (yes, pun intended!) He's a feisty old cuss. Even his groom once called him "a mean old man in a horse suit"

Most of my clients are west-coast based so I'm not sure how "famous" horses are. I have no perspective for knowing what horse if known or not known by the general public. As for champions, Derby- and Breeders Cup winners, I have painted Tiznow, Adoration, Fusaichi Pegasus, too many to name. One of my all time favorites was a tiny, 850-lb. mare name Megahertz, aka The Mighty Mite. She'd blow past her opponents in the stretch, her tiny little legs in a blur. Here's what she looks like with a 100-lb. jockey on her back. I shot this photo a few years back, and my portrait of her.
