Ok, I've achieved a semblance of competance with my digital camera. Well, actually I'm really just showing off because I finally got a digital camera! And I like showing people pictures of my dog because I think he's beeyooteeful.

Answer to the avatar question: It's Monty, my Australian Cattle Dog. He loves to suck on his stuffed bear while kneading with his feet like cats do. Here's a picture of him being noble and alert, and then running and being silly:

And here's my mountain bike. I'll post a picture of my road bike later when I dig them all out for new insurance photos.

very nice pixs amg! When I got my dig camera I tried to take a pix of my dogs: one of them ran away every time I pointed the camera at him, the other hogged the spotlight! and - yes he Is gorgeous! I love the colours of the Aus Cattle Dogs! Thanks for sharing

    Favorite bike: my Rodriguez

What's in your stable? My Pink Stellar SL Rodriguez, and a K2 4.0 Razorback outfitted with disk breaks for free!!!! the bike scar on the back of my leg earned those breaks at my first tune up! Looking to buy a cross bike for rainy days...

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? I am starting to avg about 25 on flat rides.... I've taken some hills pretty fast and think I am better off not knowing how fast I was going

    new here!

Where do you live? hilly Sullivan County, NY

Explanation of your handle: part of college motto (Hoya Saxa- from my alma mater Georgetown.) The 82 is 1982 the year I graduated. It's also my handle on eBay.

Explanation of your avatar: How do you get an avatar?

    Age (general or specific) 44

    Occupation: science teacher

    Favorite bike: don't know

What's in your stable? Me- Specialized Hard Rock (soon to be upgraded!!) DH- he has a sweet Kestrel 500EMS, as well as a couple of mountain bikes and a touring bike.

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? oh let's say about 30 mph on a hill near us just a few weeks ago

Another picture of yourself or your ride?

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: don't remember!!! I really try not to lie! I will OMIT details however...

Most memorable moment on my bike: There are lots of them, but I really enjoyed a time this spring when I was gliding down a hill and above me by just a few yards was a screaming red tailed hawk with a rather chunky snake in its talons. I love seeing nature on my rides- and I just stay on the roads! It's where we live that's amazing.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Every time I go out there it's fun because I'm doing what I want, not what I feel I have to do for someone else (yeah there's a lot of that since I'm a mom to a six year old boy, a wife, and a teacher to middle school kids).

    Real name: Mary
Where do you live? Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Explanation of your handle: Let`s see, I do triathlons and love cats.
Explanation of your avatar: Don`t have one yet.

    Age (general or specific) 48
    Occupation: Admin Support
Favorite bike: My cervelo soloist - I love it. It climbs like you wouldn`t believe!

What's in your stable? Cervelo Soloist and Norco Ladysport (11 yrs old)

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? I don`t like to go fast which explains why I`m always last in my age group but I`m getting therapy.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I`m thinking.

Most memorable moment on my bike: Too numerous to mention although I recall one funny one when I went cycling with my hubby and had to cycle this hugeeeeee hill. Half way up I stopped and decided to sit by the roadside and wait until he came back down cuz I wasn`t doing it. Well, an elderly lady rode by me with an older model bike with a basket of groceries and just kept climbing that hill. Needless to say I got back on my bike and rode to the top. Of course this was before I bought my cervelo.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Going on long bike rides with my hubby who has lost interest in cycling and has taken up golfing and kayaking. Now I`m looking for other people to cycle with. Oh yah, passing my husband on a steep hill when he couldn`t do it! Of course, he blamed it on his bike, said I had more lower gears on mine!

OK I guess I should finally do this!

    Real name: Anna

Where do you live? I'm from Ellwood City, PA but I live in Ithaca, NY now while I'm at an undergrad at Cornell.

Explanation of your handle: My name and my number for all sports!

Explanation of your avatar: umm I don't have one

    Age (general or specific) 21

    Occupation: student

Favorite bike: my Rocky Mountain Hammer Race, even though it isn't getting very much play anymore. It's such a hot bike, though.
EDIT -- oooh oooh, I didn't realize I could put my favorite dream bike! I want a Cervelo Soloist Carbon ...it's so sexy and faaaaaaast looking. And while I'm at it, how about a Kona ?Stinky Supreme for the mountains?

What's in your stable? Trek 1000WSD, which is my first road bike, and my Rocky Mountain. Recently was forced to trash my ancient, hand-me-down, beat-up Diamondback Topanga. I loved that bike and rode it for years around high school (boarding school) and college...you never saw a rustier bike, though. No one could salvage it! My Trek is working decently but I'm already looking forward to the next one -- although it will be awhile. The LBS back home pulled a fast one on a new road rider and sold it to me a few sizes too small...so it doesn't fit so well.

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 50.5mph, but after 576 miles on the road so far I still haven't found that perfect, wickedly steep hill to bomb...

Another picture of yourself or your ride?

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Goodness, I don't know. I hate lying.

Most memorable moment on my bike: Bombing our steep driveway as a little kid on a banana seat bike, throwing a skidding turn onto the grass on the left every time. Around the 50th time I lost it and I still have the asphalt scars on my knees...my favorite scars, and I think they'll last me forever!

Most fun ever had on a bike? Ooh that's a tough one. Yesterday's TT was pretty damn fun...a bike tour in Morocco with my Mom and sis was pretty fun too.

    Thanks for reading!

I get to have pizza after this, right? No...wait...cheesecake....

Welcome to the board Heidi! I Love the response to the pix of yourself!! Too cute!!!

Lynne: tell me about it....I asked admin if there was a way we could edit these once before but I think it got lost in all the posts. I have waaaay more bikes in my stable now and I've far exceeded my fastest speed posted! Oh well - guess I can always read my post and think = yeah...those were the days! LOL
