With more saddness than I thought i could feel, I watched Brodie take her last breath today. I wished at that moment that I could take mine as well. Numbness all day. Breast cancer finally filled her body and won. There will never be another soul like hers. Thank you all for your support through her illness.

Brodie's angel will bring her down to visit you. This is from a votive candle I got after I lost my sweet Golden Retriever, Agnes, last May: "grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you... I loved you so - 'twas Heaven here with you"

Oh no, invsblwmn, that's so sad I feel for you. Brodie was obviously a close and wonderful friend, and she got to help you through one of your hardest times.

This thread has so much emotion... joy and happiness for new pets and best friends, and then the next entry so much sadness. You are in my thoughts, Invsblwmn... it is just heartbreaking to lose a pet friend. Obviously you gave Brodie a long, love-filled life. That is what they are for, and for all the love and happiness they give back (who could deny the happiness in TxDoc's photos?! ).

Invsblwmn.. I hope you get to where you can remember Brodie in those happier days.
