Pax - they just have to give "no reason in particular" and they are off the hook. If they give a reason, that is when you can fight it. Weird.

T- Sorry to hear about your DH's job. It sucks but it would have sucked to stay working for a kind of company that does that without warning or explanations right before Christmas. What cowards.

Have been busy on my week off, rearranging the apartment, having some fun, quiet time...

Oh sheesh, I'm sorry to hear about that!

I'm afraid we're going to hear more and more stories like this.

I've been fired before and it was a case of bad management (or psychosis).
So sorry this had to happen at this time.

I've got a rattle in the rear view mirror of the subaru. I have to say, rattles drive me up the wall. Online looking to find if it is a common complaint and what has worked for others. It is common apparently. Subaru apparently could care less. Looks like we will have to pry the two pieces apart and put some schmutz in there.

Then messing with Kit's motorcycle. Putting on some tighter hose clamps on the gas line. Putting a new fuel filter in the tank. Gas 'er back up and take 'er down the road for a spin. Nothing like rebuilding an old classic bike and getting 'er back on the road.

not sure whether to put this in today's ride thread or here, but I'm here so...
We went out to Sammamish Cycles to finally get the new salmon brake pads for my bike. THey always have a clearance rack and I was looking for stuff for Raleighdon who has a birthday coming up in a few days. There were no helmets his size except yellow and grey combo (doesn't go with red and black) Then i found castelli shorts! After much rifling through the xxl's and the smalls I found ONE MEDIUM and it was marked $40.00 sweet! I brought them to Raleighdon who said he liked them, and the clerk range them up. $140!! what? that $ isn't really a $ it's a 1~! And they're marked down from $200.00. Isn't THAT a great deal ? well, then Raleighdon gets a 15% discount which still didn't get the price below $100. ouch. So I bought them anyway. !!!
(because he's worth it and all of his shorts are starting to look bad)

    Thank you, ladies!

Pax, X has it correct. They did the right things to be within the law.

Tuckerville, the boss went around to the crew after DH left the site and told everyone that it has nothing to do with the economic situation. That part is very likely true. Nothing much has decreased Meyer Sound's business in the past, they are probably fairly insulated.

The thing that really stinks is that when DH asked why, they told him they decided to go in a different direction. Fine, whatever. But when co-workers asked his boss why he was fired, they were told that he had been reprimanded twice and made no moves to correct whatever it was. This is an outright lie. Very unfair. He's thinking of making a move into real estate. I know, the market isn't great (really, it's not that bad up here, but definitely slower than it was), but it kind of sounds like what he really wants to do. And I think that it's about time he does what he really wants to do!! He's got a meeting with a guy on Thursday.

X - I know about those rattles, and, like some other people we know, I can just block them out, but they drive DH batty. My answer is to turn up the stereo.

    Hugs and butterflies,
    ~T~

T, that stinks. Hoping something better comes along for him pronto.

Ugh, rattles. I can't take them either. Our 'Rus were always rock solid though - ... where the Prius has been a total rattletrap from brand new.

I'm exhausted from the family thing and it's only going to get worse for the next few days. I'm just hoping I don't get sick which is what usually happens when I have to see the family. We just got over colds so our immune systems aren't the strongest already.

That's one way to solve your rattling mirror problem!

I'm surprised Subaru doesn't care about the mirror issue. Both of our cars are Subarus and we always have had great experiences w/the company & the dealers. Do you make use of mysubaru.com? I'm tracking everything there--mileage, service, etc (they send you coupons and it's great for warranty issues). Maybe you can try to contact the company directly and see if they will make it right.
