No way could he handle that. He can't even buy a Mountain Hardwear top if I give him a link right to it...

But I have a name, Isabel- Izzy! Just have to find a snake to go with it.

And poor Nanci for having such a crappy BF that would make her cry on Nail Lady's Sister's shoulder! Boo on ex-BF! Yay for snakes!
Lise, mine were true stories, at band camp, I went 4 times to the Port Townsend Old Time Fiddletunes Festival.. We followed living legends around and learned to play their tunes. on the last day, we improvised bands made up of students and did a show.
One time, at band camp, I was in a back up situation with an alaskan fiddler. Normally his guitarist kept him in check, but this time, he got drunk without the guitarist knowing it. So, he shows up REALLY REALLY late (Guitarist trusted him with one of the students who didn't think a few drinks would hurt!!) and we are scoooched onto the stage JUST ON TIME with him 3 sheets to the wind.
He grabs the microphone in front of HUNDREDS of people and starts rambling about something or the other... it was so embarrassing. After what felt like hours we got him to start playing music...

    ooooh, schweet.

But I like Flossie (and Menace) better. I just don't like those straight forks.

I know they are lighter, more efficient blah blah. There is something about the straight lines and angles of the frame and then classic curved front forks. So sue me, I'm an artist notta bike geek.

    Long live classic steel bikes!

I found the straight forks to be jarring, too. (visually, I mean. Dunno what they're like to ride on) The fork tubes seem too wide a diameter, too.

Deb, what's the rationale behind the straight forks?

But pretty bike porn, none the less.

margo- there's a lady in my office who refers to herself as the 'uniboober'... it has an interesting ring...

    X- Breathe? I don't have to breathe.... I'm ok...

Knot- I misread 'forks' as 'folks' in your recent post. Thoroughly confused me. You can see how that would be mentally troubling.

Dar- I did have a good night with dgf. watched a good movie, had a good cry, etc etc....

ok ladies.. must go to work.

Kit/Knot - I misread folks for forks in that post, too. Thinking "...I'm not jarring...?"

    Glad it wasn't just me!

I suspect those straight forks would be jarring physically as well as visually. The Waterford web site show a large variety or forks, from traditional curves to modern stuff, even on R33s. Remember, the less fork rake, the greater the trail. Handling could be the same for a straight fork with a forward bend near the head tube as for a classic fork with forward sweep near the tips. But the forward sweep and thin tubing near the tips will soak up road shocks. I'd guess that the straight steel forks may be in fashion because they look like Carbon forks. But I don't really know.

    From Sheldon Brown:
Trail is the distance from the contact point of the front wheel with the riding surface to the intersection of the steering axis (head tube) with the surface. The trail is a function of the head angle, the fork rake, and the tire diameter. Trail has a major effect on the handling of a bicycle. More trail increases the bicycle's tendency to steer straight ahead. A bicycle with a largish trail dimension will be very stable, and easy to ride "no hands". A bicycle with a smaller trail dimension will be more manuverable and responsive.

And now from further research it turns out that the guy with the snake has really screwed some people over and sold wild caught as captive bred and sold sick mite-infested snakes...Glad I didn't PayPal him the money. Just have to cancel out.
